Mobile Suit Gundam Synopsis
This is the very first in the many successful Gundam Sagas.
The story goes like this the year is UC 0079 as man's technologies improve
humans embark into outer space living in Colonies. Eventually one of
the colonies decided to break away from earth and call themselves the
principality of Zeon. A war breaks out between the Zeon and Earth the
goal simple the Zeon wish to become a separate entity. Eventually the
war is so intense that the Zeon drop a colony on Earth causing massive
fallout. With the development of the Zaku (a mobile suit) the Zeon seem
to have the upper hand. That is until they get word of an earth federation
Mobile Suit called the Gundam.
So far I've only told you the background information of
the show the information you read is from the prologue. So our series
begins with the Zeon penetrating into side 7 (a colony) looking for
the newly develop earth Federation Suit and ship. Thus the focus switches
to a young boy named Amuro who is just told that its time to evacuate
the colony from his long time friend Fra Bow. So in the midst of trying
to escape Amuro runs into his father who is the chief engineer for the
gundam. The Zaku's attack the area where Amuro and his father are talking
uncovering the Gundam. Amuro's father is pulled by a hole into space
leaving the exposed Gundam to Amuro's eyes along with the manual. Amuro
decides to jump into the cockpit of the Gundam and for some weird reason
is able to pilot the Gundam and defeat the Zeon Forces.
Eventually with the introduction of other characters Amuro heads for
White Base to escape the colony, which is about to blow. While Onboard
the Captain of the White Base is gravely injured and dies leaving Bright
Noah in charge of white base. Do to the overwhelming attack of Zeon
many of the experienced soldiers have die. In order for the white base
to escape a collective of teenagers including Amuro must act as military
and are temporary drafted becoming soldiers and fighters of White Base.
Now let's switch focus and discuss the enemy side of the main characters
first off there are four members of the Zabi family who are in control
of the Principality know as Zion. I am going to leave out their names
do to the fact that they only appear in very little of the gundam episodes
and only play a big roll towards the end of the show. Our main enemy
character of the show is Char Azanable who is an ace pilot of the Zion
Forces. He is known for shooting down five cruisers by himself.
That's the basic plot of the show most of the episodes in the series
revolve around white base trying to get to earth and hand over the ship.
And in between the way Char comes to try and stop white base but is
forted by Amuro and the Gundam many times. Eventually while on Earth
the white base is able to kill off the youngest of the Zabi Family Garma.
Thus ends the first main saga in the show. The next saga revolves around
the group from the Gallop trying to avenge Garma's death and stop white
base. Char is not seen during this storyline because he is on the bad
side of the Zabi family because he did nothing to help Garma. So in
place of Char is a new guy called Ranba Rai. And he has a Zaku that
is very different from the regular ones named the Gouf.
In this saga Amuro defeats Ranba Rai eventually and other mechs are
introduced such as the GunTank and the GunCannon. Out of rage Ranba
Rai's wife Hammon tries to destroy Amuro and the Gundam but does fail.
So we change focus to a couple of battles involving some new mechs from
the zion side. Now after this defeat an old foe by the name of Char
comes back with a vengence and engages char in some battles. Finally
the White base does manage to get to Jawbrow and the crew of the white
base is drafted into the military as a decoy unit. So its off to space
again in order to get hold of the Zeon Stronge hold Solomon. So its
off into space and with it some new revelations are brought up like
Sayla a member of white base is actually Char's sister.
So eventually in space the crew of the white base along with federation
forces are able to get into Solomon and take it over. Next up comes
a battle between Amuro, Char and Lala Sun who is a girl that is drafted
into the Zion forces as a new type. Now for those who are wondering
what a new-type is the easiest way to say it is someone who uses all
his brain power and has certain physic abilities. It is quite obvious
that at this point Char and Amuro are new types. With that clarified
now you must be wondering where Lala comes into play. Simple Lala is
a new type that is in love with both Char and Amuro and during a battle
in Space is killed accidently by Amuro when he swings at Char with the
beam saber. With the demise of Lala, Amuro along with others on the
White Base have fully developed their newtype powers.

Well if you have decide to read on i will blow the end of the series
for you. After the battle with Lala Char realizes that Lala was his
only hope in beating Amuro. Meanwhile the Zabi family has started to
fall. First off the Great Daikun who is the person in Charge of the
Zeon Principality is killed by his own son. The Daugther of the Zabi
family Kashira finds out that her brother has killed father and with
this she plots revenge. Meanwhile the Federation forces and the White
Base begin to take a stand against the Zabi family for the last time.
An all out war breaks out in space with Amuro and the others trying
to hold on for dear life. Kashira gives Char her most powerful mech
that is at only 80% to do battle as for Char the only thing on his mind
is revenge. So Kashira meets up with her brother and pretends to be
co-operating. Meanwhile outside Amuro and Char have an all out final
battle to see who is the better man. White base takes heavy hits and
everyone is forced to abandon ship.
Well back in the base Kashira kills her brother taking over the operation,
Char and Amuro continue there battle and both Gundam and Char's mech
are destroyed so they do sword to sword combat in the base. Back outside
the white base crew makes their attempt to escape by using a ship to
flot out into space. Sayla Char's sister goes to look for Amuro and
Char in an attempt to tell them they shouldn't be fighting each other.
Meanwhile Kashira plans her escape and prepares a shuttle. Eventually
Sayla meets up with the two and Char for some reason decides to leave
the battle maybe realizing he has lost to Amuro. Sayla escapes saying
her final goodbye to her brother, Amuro tries to get the remains of
Gundam and Char goes to settle an old Grudge with the Zabi family. Char
eventually meets up with Kashira's cruiser with a rocket launcher in
hand and fires it killing her and ending the Zeon threat. Sayla escapes
safely why amuro tries to fly the remnants of Gundam out to safety.
Sayla makes it out and everyone wonders what has happen to Amuro all
the crew try to use their powers to find him. It isn't until the little
kids start talking out loud that we realize that these three little
kids are communicating with Amuro through telepathy. So in a grand exit
Amuro escapes the base as it blows up and looks at his friends and says
"I have a place to go home to" and crys. And so after that
a epilouge in which we hear that in Universal Century 0080 a peace treaty
between the Zion and Federation is sign. And so Ends the first Gundam
show however the story is later continued in the Movie Char's Counterattack
in which the story of the first gundam show is finally put to an official
and true ending. Keep in mind that this Gundam show was based on the
war in space. However another story taking place during the same time
tells the story of how the war ended on earth which is Called Gundam
08th MS Team.
