Dragon Ball Z Saga Guides

For the time being I will only summarize the dbz sagas and give some brief episode summaries however currently my other staff members are working on an episode by episode guide to dbz!

Raditz saga

This is the beginning of the dbz series. In the first episode a space pod comes down from space and a guy named raditz comes out of the pod in search of Kakarotto. Meanwhile our hero from the original dragon ball Goku is preparing to meet up with his old friends from the first show. Elsewhere Goku's archrivial piccolo is about to begin a battle with raditz when Radtiz decide to continue this fight some other time and goes chasing after goku. Goku now has a son by the name of Gohan and together they head off to Master Roshi's Island to meet up with goku's old friends. Eventually the two go to the island however the reunion is cut short when Raditz shows up and knocks Krillen out and gives Goku a startling revelation. That Revelation is that Raditz is really Goku's older brother and that Goku is really an alien from outer space of a race called Saiyan(in American version) or sai-ya-jin(Japanese version).

So with that revelation behind Goku, Raditz decides to kidnap Gohan and hold him captive until goku decides to destroy the earth he loves. Thus ends the first episode, in the second episode Goku teams up with his arch rival Piccolo to try and confront Raditz in an all out battle. So putting there differences behind them Goku and Piccolo set off to stop Raditz. The two eventually find him and an all out battle commences and in the middle of the battle piccolo loses his left are thanks to a kiko wave(energy blast) and thus ends the second episode. Third episode is where Piccolo reveals his most famous special attack in dbz the Special beam cannon (Masenkampo). The only flaw about this attack is that he needs a lot of time to charge it up. So Goku goes one on one with Radtiz in an attempt to buy Piccolo some time. Eventually goku is able to grab Raditz weak point, which is his tail. However Goku being the kind-hearted person he is decides to believe Radtiz cry for help and lets him go. Well the joke is on Goku cause Raditz breaks Goku's ribs causing Gohan to erupt with anger and power and charges at Raditz hurting him. Goku broken ribs and all is able to get behind Raditz in enough time for piccolo to use his attack. Thus Goku decides that he will die with raditz to save the planet he loves.

In the following episode Piccolo using his attack and destroys kills Goku and Raditz together. However before Raditz passes to the after life Piccolo tells him that Goku will be coming back unlike him. Raditz then ask how can that be Piccolo tells him about the dragon balls and Raditz lets out a laugh saying how foolish Piccolo was cause he transmitted the conversation of the dragon balls over to the other two saiyans and that they will now be coming to the earth and are twice as strong as him. So well learn that this was just on victory in a war. So with Goku now gone Piccolo decides to train Gohan, after the display of power he showed against Raditz. Meanwhile up in the after life Goku meets up with Kame who tells him of the danger that is about to fall earth. Thanks to Kame's Help and King Yama (Lord Emma) Goku will be allowed to travel along Snake Way (Serpent Road) in an attempt to get trained by a special master of martial arts King Kai (Kaio Sama)!

Vegeta saga

Goku is on his way through snake way to go to the legendary king kai (kaio sama). Meanwhile back on earth Piccolo decides to start Gohans training with a survival test. All Gohan has to do is survive in the mountains for a while. So the episode revolves around Gohan trying to dodge and avoid various animals throughout the episode. In the next episode Gohan gets his first glimpse of moonlight for the first time. And just like Goku when he was a kid with a tail, Gohan transforms into the monkey beast (Oozaru) and Piccolo is forced to fight the beast and eventually manages to escape. Meanwhile Yajarobi tells Krillen that Kami has request that Tienshinhan, Yamacha, Chaozu, and Krillen go up to his palace for some special training. All of them take the offer and thus they begin to train for the coming saiyans.

In the next episode that follows Gohan builds a boat to escape the area he is in an attempt to go back home. The episode revolves around Gohan meeting some orphans and fighting off the police to save him. By the end of the episode Gohan manages to get right to the front of his house when Piccolo shows up and gives him an alternative to either go back home or fight along side him against the saiyans. Gohan chooses that he will defend the earth against the saiyans. Well the focus switches to an episode in which Goku is along snake way and encounters the snake queen. She tries to trick Goku in a couple of ways but all of them end in failure. At the end of the episode Goku gets into a small skirmish with the snake queen but manages to trick her into tying herself up in her body. The next episode the group that went up to train with Kami go into a room that transports them into the past where they fight two saiyans the battle is fierce Chaozu is killed first, followed by Krillen, Yamacha and Tienshinhan manage to put up a decent fight but are also killed by the saiyans. When this happens they all wake up and find themselves in Kami's palace. And so with Kami telling him that the two saiyans that are headed to earth are even stronger they decide to train harder.

The next episode features Napa and Vegeta (the two saiyans headed to earth) making a pit stop on a planet called Arillia. The two allow themselves to be captured by the king in order to get a training session. The two do battle against the Arillians and manage to liberate a slave and kill the king and there strongest monster. After liberating the planet and heading out in to the atmosphere in which Vegeta lifts his finger and destroys the planet they just liberated next stop earth. In the next episode Goku is back on the spot light and manages to reach the end of snake way. Goku jumps up to a very small planet that's gravity almost kills the poor guy. Eventually Goku comes across a monkey and thinks that it is King Kai (Kaio sama). So after awhile of imitating the monkey King Kai comes out and meets Goku who is embarrassed now.

The next episode Goku starts his training under King Kai his first test is to catch bubbles (the monkey). The reason he must catch bubbles is to get use to the gravity on Kai's planet. So after a lot of trouble Goku manages to get use to the gravity and catch bubbles. And so ends the episode, as the next test Goku must hit Gregory (a super charge Cricket) with a hammer that weighs a ton. Eventually Goku manages to pass this test and King Kai say's "that Goku may be able to master the techniques that he couldn't even master!" Meanwhile back on earth Gohan is training with piccolo. In the next episode the saiyans Napa and Vegeta finally land on earth and wreck some havoc after that they head over to Piccolo and Gohan who are the two strongest fighters.

In the next episode Yamacha, Tienshinhan, Chaozu and Krillen meet up with Gohan and Piccolo. Napa plants some seeds in the ground and saibamen(little green monsters) appear out of the ground to do combat against the Z fighters. The saiyans and Z fighters agree that they will fight the saibamen one on one in a sort of tournament match. Tienshinhan goes first and defeats his saibamen Vegeta finishes that saibamen saying it was too weak. Next up is Yamacha who seems like he has defeated his saibamen when it jumps up, grabs hold of Yamacha and does a kamikaze attack killing both of them. Krillen gets pissed of and uses and energy blast to kill all of the rest of the saibamen. After this Napa begins to fight the remaining Z fighters. The next episode not much happens as most of the episode is Napa beating the crap out of the fighters. At the end of the episode Chaozu manages to get behind Napa and blow himself up in an attempt to stop the saiyans path of destruction.

Thus ends the episode with Tienshinhan getting ready to attack Napa. In the next episode Tienshinhan attacks Napa with all his remaining energy but gets his hand cut off and eventually loses all his energy and dies. Krillen and Piccolo decide to battle Napa this battle carries on to the next episode in which Vegeta calls a 3-hour cease-fire so they can wait for Goku. Meanwhile Goku is racing back on snake way having completed his training. At the end of the episode Napa teases Gohan and Gohan attacks him Napa gets pissed off and tries to go for Gohan Piccolo goes to try to rescue Gohan and so ends the episode.

The episode continues where the last one left off with Napa running towards Gohan and Piccolo hot on his trail to stop Napa. Eventually Gohan gets scared and releases a strong kick that makes Napa go flying into a mountainside. Napa embarrassed and angered decides to attack Gohan with an energy blast. But before the energy blast can connect Piccolo dashes in front of Gohan taking the full force of the energy blast. The end result is that Piccolo is going to die, but before Piccolo dies he tells Gohan how he was his only person that every talked to him and acted like a friend. Then Piccolo dies and with his death comes also the death of Kame since Piccolo and Kame use to be one being. With Krillen down and out Gohan is left alone and must face Napa. Napa lifts his leg and starts to plunge his foot down on Gohan when the Kinto Cloud(Flying Nimbus) scoops Gohan up saving him. This can only mean one thing that Goku has come back and is ready to fight the Saiyans.

In this episode a conversation between Napa, Vegita and Goku ensues, and it is now realized that Goku's Power level according to the scouter is 9,000. Napa sounds shocked by this responds wondering how could a low level Saiyan be so powerful. Vegita tells Napa not to worry about it and so begins a fight between Goku and Napa. Napa gives Goku everything he has but to no avail as Goku blocks it all and counter attacks. Eventually Napa gets so desperate that he decides to charge at Gohan and Krillen who are watching at a distance. So Napa starts to make his decent and Goku uses the Kaioken attack on Napa, which ends up breaking Napas back. Goku throws Napa towards Vegeta's feet telling him to leave with his friend, Napa asks Vegeta for some help getting up and extends his hand. Vegeta Grabs his hand and throws Napa up into the air and fires an energy blast at him killing the large Saiyan. Next up Goku tells Vegeta to follow him if he wants a fight. Eventually Goku leads Vegeta to a much farther mountain area and the to start a battle in which Goku says that he is going to have to go all out on him.

In this episode the best fight so far in the series happens in which Goku fights Vegeta. Goku uses the Kaioken move on Vegeta a lot of times on him. Vegeta gets in a couple of good shots but in the end run questions how a low level Saiyan can be as powerful as the Saiyan Prince. Eventually Vegeta decides to use his energy blast called the Galic Gun and starts to charge up. Goku decides that he is going to use a triple Kaioken Kamehameha attack to try to stop Vegeta. The two blasts connect with each other and in the end run Goku's Kamehameha beats Vegetas attack sending him up into Space. Vegeta gets pissed off and comes back to the ground telling Goku that he will beat him with a technique that Goku's father made up. He shots a glowing ball up into the earth atmosphere and starts to transform.

In this episode Vegeta completes his transformation into an Oozaru aka Giant Ape. He starts to beat up on Goku really bad as Goku does everything in his power just to try and avoid getting squished on. Eventually Goku use the Taioken(Solar Flare) on Vegeta in order for Goku to get enough time to create a spirit bomb(genkidama). Vegeta is blinded and Goku starts to gather his energy but before Goku can throw the spirit bomb Vegeta stops him with an energy blast from his mouth. Vegeta grabs Goku ans starts to break his bones in the palm of his hands. Meanwhile while flying back to the Kame house Gohan and Krillen sense that Goku's ki (life force) is fading and they decide to head for the battle site to save Goku from certain death. Eventually Gohan and Krillen come back to the battlefield and start to distract Vegeta. Krillen fires his destructo disk (Keinzen) at Vegeta but in the end run misses that attack. Eventually Yajirobe comes out of hiding and cuts off Vegeta's tail transformering him back into his human form.

Vegeta is now really pissed off and starts to attack Gohan and Krillen with an energy blast. Goku can do nothing having nearly every bone in his body broken Gohan manages to fight back against Vegeta but cannot do anything to beat him. Goku calls over Krillen and eventually passes on the energy from the spirit bomb that is left over. Kaiosama tells Krillen that he must wait for the perfect time to hit Vegeta with the spirit bomb. Eventually Krillen finds the perfect moment and throws the spirit bomb but Vegeta jumps over it luckily with Goku and Kaiosama telling Gohan to bounce it back he does indeed bounce the spirit bomb back and in the end run hits Vegeta sending him up into the sky.

In the last episode of the Vegeta saga, Vegeta is battered and bruised but not out for the count first he attacks Krillen and then Gohan. Eventually the discovery is made by Vegeta that Gohan's tail is exposed. Vegeta gets scared because he knows that Gohan can transform thanks to the energy ball he put up in the sky that is still there. Goku telepathically tells Gohan to look up at the ball and Gohan transforms into the Oozaru (Giant Ape). Vegeta having used up most of his energy takes a real beating from Gohan. Eventually Vegeta fires a Keinzen (destructo disk) at Gohan's tail cutting it off. The only problem with that is the fact that Gohan falls on Vegeta before he changes fully back to human form and is still in a Oozaru without hair state meaning he ways at least 2 tons still. So Vegeta gets crushed and the battle is now officially over. Krillen manages to stand up and grab Yajirobe's sword Vegeta meanwhile uses his remote for his space pod to come and it shows up. He starts to crawl for the pod but Krillen shows up and holds the sword to his body saying that he is not going anywhere. Goku once again telepathically tells Krillen to show Vegeta mercy since he is a fellow Saiyan and admires his strength. So Vegeta gets into his pod and vows to come back for his revenge. The pod blast off as Krillen looks up into the sky and starts to see something flying towards him luckily its not Vegeta again but Master Roshi (Muten Roshi) and the others coming to great the victors and so ends the Vegeta saga!

Namek Saga

In the first episode of Namek Saga, Goku, Krillen, and Gohan are rushed to the hospital after there massive battle with Vegeta. Gohan and Krillen are not seriously hurt and are put in bandages as oppose to Goku who has to be put in an iron long thanks to all the broken bones in his body cause by Vegeta's Giant Ape aka Oozaru transformation. While at the hospital the remaining Z fighters try to figure out a way to wish their friends back. Since Piccolo is dead that means Kame is dead as well and they can't use the earth's Dragon Balls cause when came dies the Dragon Balls disappear as well.
Eventually Krillen gets the idea to Go to Namek the home world of Kame and Piccolo, which was told thanks to Raditz in the beginning of the series, and use the Nameks Dragon Balls. However the problem arises where is Namek. Well thanks to a little help from Kaio sama aka King Kai the remaining Z fighters learn where Namek is. The second problem arises when Bulma says it's impossible to get to Namek with an earth made space ship. Krillen then pulls out a remote control that Vegeta dropped on the floor before leaving Earth. Burma starts to fiddle around with the buttons an accidentally cause the Saiyan Pod of Napa (which was left behind on earth) to self-destruct. Now with all hope lost the Z fighters begin to feel sorrow until Mr. Popo the aid to Kame visits the hospital and Tells of another space ship the one Kame was sent in while he was a kid. So Bulma goes with Popo and they find the space ship on a high mountain top Bulma tries to open the door but it won't Bug that's when Mr. Popo tells Bulma the ship only activates on commands of the Namek language. Luckily Popo knows some Namekian and tells the ship to blast off in a matter of Seconds Bulma and Mr. Popo are at Jupiter and so ends that episode.

In the next episode Bulma says that Mr. Popo can come along on the Journey this is when Popo tells her he can't go but can teach Bulma Namekian in order to fly the Plane. So a couple of days pass Krillen decides to go and then Gohan does as well after a long discussion with ChiChi who is not pleased. Goku unfortunately has to stay behind due to the fact that he can't move yet and Kaorin hasn't brought him the senzu beans yet. So more days pass and eventually it is time to leave. Gohan, Krillen, and Bulma begin there journey into space and so the official start of the Namek Saga begins.

In this episode Bulma and the others are captured by a Giant stealth spaceship owned by a group of humanoid aliens. Gohan and Krillen do battle but eventually stop when they release these people are not aliens. The alien Race tells Krillen and Gohan that they thought they were henchmen of Frieza aka Freezer. Krillen ask who Freezer is and soon the group learns that he is a terrible villain who goes around enslaving planets and is the alien Vegeta works for. Eventually the time comes for Bulma, Krillen, and Gohan to bid their new friends goodbye and start back at their mission to Namek. Eventually Bulma finds namek and the coordinates match and so the ship begins to make a landing.

In this episode the Gang is knocked unconscious after landing but awake to two guys that look very similar to Piccolo. Eventually it is learn that these two are Namekians and decide to aid Bulma and the others on their quest to get the Dragon Balls. With the help of a Namek the group hunt for the dragon balls and Eventually come to an acid lake in which Gohan retrieves a Dragon Ball. The next Dragon Ball is found in a castle in which the group fight a Giant and escape in a plane.
In this episode the continued hunt for the Dragon Balls is on and the group eventually find two of them actually if im not mistaken this is where the castle fight comes in not the last episode. Either way the gang continues to find more dragon balls. Now the gearshifts focus and We see a saiyan space pod land on a strange planet. When an alien comes by and opens the Pod we see Vegeta badly hurt and a group of aliens that work for Freeza carry him off to heal him in a healing Pod. Back on Namek the Gang Recover yet another Dragon Ball this one in an ice cave. Only one more to go and so the gang continue on there way to a lake in which Gohan, Krillen, and Bulma are captured by squids and so ends the episode.

In this episode the gang learn that the two namekians are not really namekians but aliens that have been trapped because of a stellar wind and now have the perfect time to escape with the ship that the Bulma and the others have it also made apparent that the whole planet was made as an illusion to purposely trick them into coming to the planet. Bulma tells them that you have to know namekian to run the plane and the group says its no problem cause they probed the groups mind while they were unconscionable. The aliens begin to run off while Gohan and Krillen fight off the squids eventually Gohan and Krillen get to the aliens before they can open the ship and kick their butts. After all that trouble the Bulma and the others escape the stellar winds and head off for the real Namek and new dangers. Meanwhile back where Vegeta is the time of healing is over and Vegeta begins to grin and so ends that episode.

In this episode it is learned that Vegeta is fully healed and wants to know where Frieza is the doctor tells him that Frieza has left for Namek in search of the Dragon Balls. Vegeta becomes enraged and starts to run off. That is when he bumps into one of Frieza lackeys and tells Vegeta that Frieza can not be defeated and is invincible Vegeta doesn't care and storms off without a scouter the doctor yells to him he needs his scouter but Vegeta says he doesn't need it and reconsiders the thought and actually takes the scouter. Meanwhile on Earth Goku Escapes from the hospital and decides to train, Goku is not 100% and ends up back in the hospital. Meanwhile the gang get closer to Namek and Vegeta starts on his journey ending this episode.

In this episode Bulma and the others finally make it to Namek. But learn that a lot of Big Powers similar to Vegeta are here. After a long discussion the gang are attack by weaklings that are Frieza henchmen. Meanwhile off on another side of Namek, we meet Frieza, Zarbon, and Dodoria who are terrorizing Namekians and have already three Dragon Balls. Frieza forces an elder Namek to tell him where the other balls are this is when some warrior nameks come to save the day but in the end fall victim to Zarbon and Dodorias massive Power. Gohan and Krillen feels this huge power and tell Bulma that they better call for some help. The episode ends with Frieza, Zarbon, and Dodoria swearing the will get the Dragon Balls.

In this episode Vegeta makes it to Namek and encounters the same Frieza lackey from the episode before the last one. The two begin to fight and Vegeta tells the lackey that he has learned to hide his power a trick he picked up from Goku and the earthlings. Gohan and Krillen feel Vegetas Power and now know there in trouble. Meanwhile Vegeta does quick work with the lackey and begins to listen in on the scouter to Frieza conversation. Frieza is at another village terrorizing more Nameks and Receive another ball but Frieza thinks the elder Namek is hiding something so they decide to rough him up and start to pick on a little kid. Krillen and Gohan left Bulma behind in the last episode and are now on top of the mountain hiding but Gohan can not control his power and ends up Kicking Dodoria and saving the boy now Krillen, the namek kid(Dende), and Gohan must fly for their lives ending the episode.

In this episode the race is on with Dodoria chasing after them. Krillen eventually uses the solar flare(taioken) attack to blind Dodoria while Gohan and Dende hide in the mountains. Krillen also hides and Dodoria decides to blast the area with an energy attack. Dodoria being over confident believes he has wiped out the pest and flies off. Krillen and the others in fact where hiding above the clouds of Dodoria not on the rocks as he had thought. Krillen asks the kid his name and the kid tells him its Dende next Krillen asks him to come with him and Gohan and that they would return him safely to his elder later and so the group begin to fly off to Bulma who is hiding in a cave. Their Dende tells them of the Eldest Namek who made the Dragon Balls and Dende tells Krillen he will take him to the Master Namek. And so Gohan is left behind while the Krillen and Dende fly off in search of the Eldest Namek. Eventually while flying Dodoria is attack by Vegeta and learns that Vegeta not only knows how to hide powers but read them without a scouter. Dodoria tries his best but in the end is Killed by Vegeta. Zarbon informs Frieza that the scouter reports Dodoria is dead and how Vegeta could be so much more powerful than before Frieza assures Zarbon that it is nothing compared to the power he has its like a little speck. Krillen and Dende are still on there way when the feel Vegetas power.

In this episode Goku is finally out of the hospital thanks to the senzue beans of Korin Goku is informed that Vegeta and Frieza are on Namek and the gang need help. That's when Goku asks Burma's dad if he can make him a space ship and a gravity machine for the trip to Namek. Eventually the doctor makes the ship and Goku sets out to help his friends the only problem is it will take 6 days to get there. Goku uses the Gravity to train in 20 times earth's gravity just like he did in King Kai's aka Kaiosama planet. Meanwhile on Namek Vegeta finds a Namek Village and attacks it gaining a Dragon Ball. Vegeta decides to hide this Ball from Frieza by putting it in a lack next up Vegeta decides to head off. Zarbon later on gets to the Village and ask who did this and he learns that it was Vegeta now Zarbon decides to chase after him.

In this episode Vegeta meets up with Zarbon and the two begin to battle. At first Vegeta have the upper hand but eventually the tide turns when Zarbon transforms his shape into a stronger form and starts to rough up Vegeta meanwhile elsewhere Krillen and Dende are almost at the Eldest Nameks place. Vegeta takes a great beating and is thrown into the lake by Zarbon is Vegeta really dead?
