Description
Takato is the central character of the 03 digidestined. He starts
out by playing the card game, and normally losing to his friend Kazu.
One day in class, though, he draws up his own digimon, named Guilmon.
The next day, he finds the blue card in his stash of cards. He scans
it through his card reader and then watches it turn into his very own
digivice. He goes home that night and tries to scan his picture and
stats of Guilmon through the card reader on the D-power. However, it
doesn't work at first, but the D-power then reads each and every page just
like a card, creating his digimon partner in an egg, which shows up on the
screen. The next day, the egg has hatched and notifies him of where
his digimon will biomerge using a compass built into it. He finds
Guilmon and tries to keep him at home, but it's impossible to hide him
there forever, so he hides him in the park. Later on, Impmon tries
to get Guilmon into trouble by terrorizing some people and blaming it on
Guilmon. Takato blames Guilmon at first for not obeying him and
saying in the park, but when Devidramon got loose of the digital barrier,
he finds out from Terriermon that Impmon set him up. Takato
apologizes to Guilmon and, with the power of his own heart, has Guilmon
digivolve into Growlmon, a larger form of Guilmon with white hair on him.
After that, when the tiger deva showed up at the top of Yamaki's
headquarters, all of the other digimon failed, including Growlmon, who was
being injured severely. However, Takato was able to reach out to
Growlmon somehow and grab onto him (but in real life, he grabbed onto
Calumon, the catalyst of digivolution) and used the power of the catalyst
to Matrix Digivolve Growlmon into WarGrowlmon, a heavy armored machine who
defeated the tiger deva in no time. After some time being in the
digital world, Takato witnessed the death of Leomon. He wanted
revenge so bad that it took over his entire soul, which forced Guilmon to
digivolve to it's alternate mega form, a huge winged beast that had no
soul. Takato then dropped his digivice, which broke apart into
digital data since he lost control of himself and his digimon partner.
He then realized how much he cared for Guilmon and put that over his
feelings of revenge, which caused them to Biomerge Digivolve into
Gallantmon, a knight-type digimon. After the battle when Takato and
Guilmon return to their normal forms, Takato recieves the gold D-power,
who's pattern looks like the outer edge of Gallantmon's shield. They
later returned to the real world by the ark, who Guilmon could tell that
it was alive. Then, durring the battle against the D-reaper in the
real world, the creators of the digital world recreated the ark into
Granni, a powerful armor piece. But, it needed something to get
itself out of the digital field, so unknowing to everyone, Gallantmon sent
out a beam of energy to it, making it biomerge into the real world as an
addition to Gallantmon's armor. Finally, after the group entered the
D-reaper using the power of the pink card, which was to be stronger than
the blue cards and make them last in the D-reaper without being deleted,
Gallantmon and them were losing the fight until Granni sacrified itself to
have Gallantmon Mode Change to Gallantmon Crimson Mode.
Personality
Takato seems to be young at heart at first, but he grows up quickly,
learning how to be a leader and how to follow when necessary. He
also discovers time and time again that even though Guilmon may seem to be
a handful, he loves him just the same, which most of the time causes
Guilmon to digivolve into it's different forms. Takato later finds
out that he is part of Guilmon and Guilmon is part of him, which really
changes what he thinks of himself and his digimon partner.
