Description
Tai was one of the original chosen ones from the camp and was the one that was partnered up with Koromon, who digivolved into Agumon during their battle against Kuagamon.  Tai, then in trouble with the Shellmon, was mysteriously able to digivolve Agumon into Greymon for a short time, but long enough to defeat Shellmon.  After the journey for the crests started, Tai came across a Pagumon village, which actually was a Koromon village when Agumon was living there.  Agumon was able to find out that the Gazimon set a trap and, not too long afterwards, Etemon made his appearance to the others.  They were led into a cave, but it dead ended.  However, the cave's end was actually Tai's crest of courage, which also set them ahead of Etemon.  Then, once Tai had his crest, Tai was unsure on how to use it, so he tried to put himself into danger against the Greymon that Etemon sent against them.  With that, Greymon used the power of the crest and digivolved into SkullGreymon, an uncontrollable beast.  Then, during the rescue attempt of Sara, he was faced with the firewall problem, having to overcome his fear of destroying himself to save Sara.  Once he put his hand through, he found out the true way to use the crest by the way it was glowing.  It was the Courage inside of him that activated it.  With that, Greymon was able to digivolve to MetalGreymon and defeat Etemon, but not without being sent back to the real world, where they found out that Kari knew about Koromon and digimon, which Tai found surprising.  When he returned, he found out the group had split up, so he set out on a mission to get the team back together, which he succeeded in doing.  Then, when faced with Myotismon's door to the other realms, he was the one that had to choose which card they were to use last.  Tai decided to keep the card of Agumon because it was the evolution of his digimon, Koromon.  Then, during the final battle against VenomMyotismon, he heard the prophecy of Gennai's and was hit by the Arrow of Light, which caused Agumon to Warp Digivolve to WarGreymon.  He was also the one to defeat MetalSeadramon and Machinedramon during the battles against the first three Dark Masters.  Then, during the battle against Pidemon, he sent out Sara and T.K. to get help from the others.  They returned with Matt and Joe, making it able to fight Pidemon and defeat him.  Finally, during the battle against Apocylamon, he was able to be a great fighting force and helped deliver the final blow, which forced Apocylamon to self destruct himself to destroy them.  Unfortunately, his blast was contained by the power of the digivices and then destroyed.  With his destruction, the digital world would restart anew.  But, Tai and the others left their digimon behind to protect the new digital world.  Tai also returned in 02, mysteriously sending out the digivices from the Digiegg of Courage and trying to get DarkMetalGreymon to listen to him when he was being controlled by a dark spiral.

Personality
Tai shows himself as trying to be a natural born leader.  However, early on in his journeys, he doesn't know as much as everyone else, which causes problems in showing his leadership ability.  However, by the time he returns from the real world, he shows himself more and more as a leader and is truly one when he is decisive in his decisions during the battle against Pidemon and Apocylamon.  He also becomes afraid of higher digivolution after he thought that SkullGreymon was Agumon's Ultimate form, but Pixiemon was able to make them realize that everyone makes mistakes and they need to try again, which showed when they defeated Etemon combined with his dark network by digivolving to MetalGreymon.  He also shows himself as a caring person, trying as hard as he can to make sure Kari or any of the others are not hurt, especially in 02 when he tries everything to get Agumon back.  He also shows in 02 that he has a crush on Sara, but is afraid to confront her about it since Sara shows interest in Matt more that she shows interest in him.
