Description
Joe, as with most of the others, was one of the first ones chosen for the trip to the digital world.  His partner was called Bukamon, who digivolved to Gomamon during the battle against Kuagamon and helped saved them from the fall afterwards by using his Marching Fishes attack.  Then, during the climb up to the summit of Devimon's headquarters, Joe went out to explore on his own.  However, he was attacked by a Unimon with a black gear in it's back, so Gomamon digivolved to Ikkakumon to destroy the black gear in the back of the Unimon.  Then, during the time that the digidestined and all the digimon except Greymon were trapped in the soccer goal by Etemon, Joe was able to find his crest and a way out of their trap.  He also was trapped in with Matt slaving away for Veggiemon and Digitamamon, but was helped out by Matt and WereGarurumon.  Later on, in the real world, Joe risked his own life to save T.K. because he was a "responsible person."  That caused his crest of Reliability to glow and cause Ikkakumon to digivolve to Zudomon.  Joe went out with Mimi and then seen SaberLeomon get destroyed by Metaletemon, but also witnessed the destruction of Metaletemon as well.  He went out on his own then and helped Matt and Sara get out of the dark cloud that tried to consume them.  In 02, he was the one that Cody got to help rescue the others from their underwater prison, showing he was still reliable as can be.

Personality
Joe is always the one to run away from a fight, seeming that he is a coward.  However, as time passes, Joe proves himself the opposite, showing that he is more reliable than meets the eye.  He is willing to drop everything and anything to make sure that all of his friends will come out of the battle alright.
