Description
Izzy, like most of the others, was one of the original Digidestined from summer camp.  His partner was Motimon, who digivolved into Tentomon during the battle against Kuagamon.  Later on, during the battle against Andromon, Tentomon digivolved to Kabuterimon to protect Izzy from harm, as well as the others.  He also tries hard to find out why they are there as he starts to receive e-mails from a mysterious source known as Gennai.  He also finds his crest by wandering outside of Pixiemon's protective shield, which lead one of Etemon's digimon into where they were.  Later on, while he is with Vademon and under his spell to get his crest and sell it to DemiDevimon, Tentomon tries to get him out of his trance, but fails to and de-digivolves to Pabumon.  Once he notices that Tentomon de-digivolved to Pabumon, he was broken from his trance and was able to get his crest back.  Then, while facing Vademon, Tentomon was able to use the power of Izzy's thirst for knowledge to digivolve to MegaKabuterimon.  Later on, he was able to help Tai out by coaching him along on his lone battle against Pidemon and was also helping to destroy some of the final enemy's arms.  In 02, he is the one who always seems to know what is going on, being the one full of knowledge and always seeming to know what to do and where to go.

Personality
Izzy is one to use intelligence to find a way out of his powers, hence why he holds the crest of knowledge.  Izzy, though, is not one who deals with the unknown just as the unknown.  He always makes theories on why and how they can be there in the Digital World.  But, he is one to defend his friends, making sure they are safe.  His first response to anything is to look at his computer and see what kind of info he has on the problem and how to work it out.
