After the fight that has Hana-kun with the basketball captain, all are given appointment in the gym of the school, included Rukawa. The challenge consists in that if Hana-kun is able to score a point against the captain before he score ten points Hana-kun will win. What he doesn't know is that the captain is no less than Takenori Akagi, the big brother of Haruko. In the end Hana-kun overcomes Akagi carrying out a slam dunk (Play that Haruko had already taught him). After this Hana-kun tries to won the permission of Akagi to enter to the basketball team, thing that after a lot "effort" achieves.
But one thing is to enter and another very different one is to play, so to be a beginner they leave Ayako in charge of Hanamichi, the coach of the team, so that she can teach him the basics. On the other hand Rukawa enters without problems to the team, and it is also the sensation of the school. So Hana-kun begins to despair Akagi since he doesn't allow him to participate in the practices with the team and in an exploit of anger he hits the Captain and leaves. While Rukawa continue to amaze everybody, he even has a fans club. During a training a man of advanced age appears walking by the gym. Hanamichi when not knowing who he is, comes closer to him and it begins to bother it, Akagi as soon as he sees what he's making hits him in the head, for not respecting Anzai Sensei.
Meanwhile Ayako tells Hana-kun that Anzai Sensei was player of the National Selection of Basketball of Japan and that it has organized a practice game with the team Ryonan, so he will choose some of yhe players form the regular team, so it organizes games of 1° against 2° and 3°.
The following day, Aota Tasuika, captain of the judo team and rival of Akagi since they were children, is interested in Hana-kun for his team. Hana-kun tries, but after some tecnics of Aota refused to practice judo, in spite of the comments of Aota that tells him that he only practices basketball for Haruko. Hana-kun answers him: " I want to play basketball, because I am a player"!.
So this comedian is about sports...
