Toji and Kensuke pictures
Toji Suzuhara and Kensuke Aida are the seemingly inseperable pair of boys that are probably Shinji's best friends. They did not meet in the best of terms, with Toji trying to deck Shinji for an accident his sister had during Shinji's first Eva fight, and Kensuke trying to hold him back. Toji did get his wish - he hit Shinji in the face, but was seen by the school rep. Later he found himself curiouser and curiouser about the quiet boy, and eventually became one of his best friends.
Kensuke is Toji's friend, who had no problem with Shinji at all. He likes all kinds of mechanical thingummies, and is generally seen with a mini t.v. or a video camera. He got to know Shinji better when the Third Child ran away, and they met while Aida was playing war by himself.
Both boys are totally obsessed with Misato Katsuragi, Shinji's overseer and roommate, which is something that Shinji can't understand. Finally, in a fit of frustration, Toji yells at him that he only gets to see Misato in her usual state every morning because she considers him family. That greatly pleased Shinji, who constantly feels he has no family. Toji seems to like wearing his bag strap on his head (it took me a while to figure out what it was - Kachi) and both boys call for Shinji every morning, although really I suspect that they just do it to see Misato. In fact, I'm sure that's why they do it... And they both think that Shinji should be in love with Rei.
Neither of then can stand Asuka Soryu, the very scary part-German girl who once belted Toji round the face for looking up her skirt (accidently). She hit him again when he pulled down both his trousers and his underwear to 'give her her change'. This didn't endear her to him.
