ROCKY

A Real American Hero

-a site created by Joseph Casey-

The Way of the Heart

Rocky taught me many lessons on how to be a good human being. Throughout the first two movies Rocky was treated like a piece of wood because he was not that smart. He was made fun of, he was laughed at and called stupid to his face. One scene that taught me something about Rocky was in the first movie, towards the begining, Rocky is supposed to go to some guy's work, collect money from the guy or break his thumbs. When Rocky gets there the guy pleads with Rocky not to hurt him that he is trying to pay off Rocky's boss. Rocky being the hearty guy that he is says ok. When Rocky's boss questions him why he didn't break his thumbs, Rocky replies in a way only he can "Well I figured if he ain't got no money now, and I break his thumbs hows he supposed to work?" And then you hear Rocky mumbling a little bit because he's unsure of himself and his decisions but it was the right one. His boss understands Rocky and realizes the humanity Rocky has for people and doesn't fire him but tries to work with him.

Every fight that Rocky had he was always the underdog, he was always fighting uphill. But it was ok because Rocky never gave up, he had too much heart, too much pride, too much self-respect to give up. He was a fighter, he was a lover, he was a great man.
