Turning her head the other way, Liz looked out the window. Gray clouds filled the sky. The rain was pouring hard, it was only visible by the frequent lightening streaks in the horizon. A huge crash of thunder shook the room and lightening sent flashes of light through the window.
With the thunder, Brian sat up, eyes wide open. "Geez!" he shouted.
"Shhh, I don't know if anybody is awake yet!" she whispered.
Brian hates thunderstorms, but Liz on the other hand loves them. She enjoyed listening and watching the activity of storms. Another crash of thunder shook the room and Brian dived under the sheets like a child.
"Brian, come out of there! What are you doing?"
"I'm hiding," he joked.
"You know what I do when something doesn't go my way?" Liz asked.
"What?"
"I simply remember my favorite things and then I don't feel so badrain drops on roses and whiskers on kittens" she sang as she leapt up to her feet and danced around the room jokingly. She waltzed over to the bed and threw off all of the sheets. Grabbing Brian's hand she pulled him off the bed. "I need a dance partner!" she said and continued singing the song.
"Froiline Maria, what if I'm still scared?" Brian asked her as they waltzed around the room laughing. Brian turned and dipped Liz, but dipped her too far, and by mistake dropped her on the floor. "Liz are you Okay?" Brian said worried as he saw tears in her eyes. Liz couldn't speak. She was laughing so hard she was crying. Brian realized she was okay and reached his hand out to pull her up. Instead of having Brian pull Liz up, Liz pulled Brian to the floor.
"Ha ha! I'm still stronger than you, Brian Littrell!" she giggled.
"Oh, yeah?" he said with an evil sparkle in his eye.
"No, Brian, don't!" she said, getting to her knees and crawling out of Brian's reach. Brian caught up to her and wrapped his arm around her waist. He playfully pushed her to the floor and turned her over. Then he continued to tickle her.
"Ahh, ha ha ha ha ha! Brian! Ha ha ha! Stop, ha ha, stop! Ha ha ha!" she shouted. Finally, she flipped him over and was on top of him. "Now it's your turn, Littrell!" she laughed evilly. Liz knows Brian's most ticklish spots, which worked well to her advantage. Brian too laughed at the top of his lungs.
He laughed so loudly that it sounded like him screaming.
Everybody in the house thought there was a problem and raced to the room. Megan and Riley stood in the doorway.
"Awe, isn't that cute?!" they shouted. Nick then reached the room.
"Okay, Lizzy, get off my pal here!" he said and lifted her off Brian, who still couldn't stop laughing. He placed her on her feet and pulled Brian up. He sat down on the bed holding his stomach from laughing pains.
Liz looked over at Nick, wearing only his pajama pants. "Nick why are you in my house in your pajamas this early in the morning?" she asked. She looked from Nick to Megan, and back to Nick. "Are you corrupting my little sister?" she asked in a serious tone, but joking. She took Nick off guard and he didn't realized she was joking.
Nick rambled trying to come up with an answer. "Well, um, last night I forgot my bag here and Megan answered the door and invited me to stay the nightbut she said that nothing was going to happen but sleep, and I didn't want to do anything more than that because I love her and I want it to be special when we do do it, so I stayed over last night but I swear nothing happened!" he said and took a breath. "Please don't hurt me?!" he whined.
Crash! sounded the thunder. The hall lights flickered out and the power was gone.
"Oh don't worry, Nick, I was only joking!" Liz laughed.
"Yeah, right, she would have killed you!" Brian said still laughing a little bit. Liz turned, and ran towards Brian in full speed. She knocked him down on the bed and tickled him again.
After Liz got all the tickling out of her system, she sat down on the bed. "So, did we wake all you guys up?"
"Nope, we've all been up for at least an hour!"
"Did y'all eat breakfast yet?" Liz asked.
"Nope, then made me wait until you woke up!" Nick said.
"You guys! You know it gets ugly when Nick doesn't eat every ten minutes!" Brian shouted.
"Hey! Frick!"
"Hey! Frack!" he mimicked.
"Oh, yeah?" Nick said jokingly, being tough.
"YEAH!" Brian answered.
"Well then, let's settle this! You and me, right here, right now! You're going down!"
"Now, ladies, this may get ugly. I suggest you leave the room!" Brian said, pushing them out of the room before they could answer.
"HEY!!! THAT'S MY ROOM YOU'RE FIGHTING IN!" Liz shouted, banging on the locked door.
"Yeah, now we can go through all your private stuff!" Brian shouted.
"Fine, you guys stay in ther, and we girls will go downstairs and make ourselves a bacon and eggs breakfast while you boys starve to death in there!" Liz said. The door opened before she finished her sentence and Nick ran down the stairs.
"C'mon, let's go make some breakfast!" Liz said, leading everybody downstairs. Brian just started lovingly at Liz. Liz didn't see him, but Megan sure did. She grabbed Brian's arm and pulled him into Liz's room, closing the door behind them.
"Well?" she said grinning at him. He knew she had caught him staring at Liz.
"Well what?" Brian asked avoiding eye contact.
"Oooh, YAY, YOU LOVE HER!" Megan shouted.
"Geez, Meg, a little louder so she can hear!" he scolded.
"Sorry, but Oooh, YAY, YOU LOVE HER!" she whispered. "For how long have you loved her?" Megan asked gleefully.
"A while now," Brian said. "But you CAN NOT tell her!"
"Why not? It's so cool that you love her!"
"Because we're best friends and this would change everything! I'm not more than a best friend to her and it will ruin what we have!"
"Oh, no it won't Brian!"
"Yes it will! Promise me you won't tell her! Promise, Megan!" Brian pleaded.
"Oh, okay, you big poop! I promise!"
"Megan, Brian, come help make breakfast!" Laney shouted from downstairs.
"C'mon, Brian!" Megan said. "Brian loves Liz, Brian loves Liz," she sang softly teasing Brian.
"Hey!" he whimpered not liking being teased.
