Dave's Colorfull Radios

Welcome to page 33 of Dave's colorfull Radios. Even durring the depression there was money and the rich still bought very fancy radios. Many did not buy fancy cars to fluant there wealth but spent for the home. On this page are three examples of custom radios from the 1930s.

1932 E H Scott Custom Radio

E H Scott was the real Rolls Royce of Radio. Even his battery type sets from the 1920s were of the highest quality and held reception distance records for years. During the 1930s Scott kept the same high quality and offered many custom cabinets for his radios to be put into. The one above is the fanciest I have come accross so far. Notice there is a small clock down in the front lower piece.

1938Zenith Louis XV Console

In 1938 Zenith offered a model in the style of the Frenh Louis XV styling of furniture. This is a classis style of furniture which many times over the decades was in vogue. This model was sold for this one year only. Quite a contrast to the modern industrial designs that were sweeping the nation at the time.

1930's Custom Radio

Here is a custom made cabinet made in the 1930s which looks like it has a Philco chassis in it. The dial looks like a Philco style which Philco used on many of its 1937-1938 models.
