Dave's Colorfull Radios

Welcome to page 34 of Daves Colorfull Radios. One of radios selling points in the 1930's was tuning systems on thier radios. Two of the radios featured on this page used the same type of system. The other radio is a bakelite made in England.

1936 Airline Teledial

One of the tuning systems used on many 1930s radios was the teledial. It look like the dial telephones that everyone was used to using in thier home. Some you just spun the ring around by the finger hole in the bezal and went to the preselected station the hole was set for. Others had small knobs that you rotated around the bezal to do the same thing. Airline offered this on many table radios and some consoles.

1935 Ecko Model AD 36

Ecko radios were made in England. Thier round bakelite cases make them stand out. They are large radios. The fronts are very art deco in looks and there are many models in this design theam.
