1935 Emerson Model 108 Tombstone.

Shown above is the 1935 Emerson model 108 midget tombstone. This radio is housed ina smaller cabinet then its much larger brothers in the Emerson line. There were two models of the 108. The 108 above and the 108LW. The 108 LW included the longwave band. Both radios had standard broadcast and shortwave bands.

1937 Fada Model 350V

The above radio is a 1937 Fada model 350v. This radio is a plaskon radio with standard broadcast and shortwave. Nice art deco styling with the waterfall grill and sloping curve line underneath the speaker area on the bottom front. Instead of a a airplane dial a large tuning knob is used with both band markings on the dial.

1946 Olympic Model 6-501

After WWII many new radio companies were formed. Olympic was one of them. Pictured above was one of thier first models the 6-501. There was apentup demand for new radios after the war so new companies tried to cash in on this. Like back in the 1920s many would not last long but some of the new companies did. Olympic was one that did. The styling on this radio shows the prewar design on the left with the wrap around louvers. The right side with the slanted dial knob area was different.Click here to go to page 27 of Daves Colorfull Radios.> Click here to go back to page 25 of Daves Colorfull Radios.> Click here to go back to my homepage.
