Daves Colorfull Radios

Welcome to page 25 of Daves Colorfull Radios. In the background are some British made crystal radio sets from the 1920s. Repwood cabinets were made from the mid 1920s through the 1930s. The first photo shows a repwood table set from the 1930s. The other two featured radios are catalin table radios made by Emerson and Motorola.

1939 Emerson Model DB247 (Snow White)

Pictured above is a 1939 Emerson DB 247 Snow White wood set. This is a combination of regular wood veniers and repwood. The figures and scalloping are the repwood parts. Emerson also had another Snow White model that had painted figures on the front. That was a presswood cabinet and the model was the Q236.

1938 Emerson Model AX235

Shown above is the 1938 Emerson model AX235 catalin table radio. This radio is a small catalin table radio. Both the cabinet and speaker grill are made out of the catalin plastic. This radio the colors are solid not marbled. It is rather plane looking but is a bueaty in its own way.

1939 Motorola Model 54A2

Pictured above is a 1939 Motorola model A52 catalin radio. This is the green marbled catalin version of this radio. With the yellow swirling there is spots that look like gold mixed into the cabinet.
