Welcome to page 20 of Daves Colorfull Radios. The first radio on this page is a model that was made for the 1933 Chicago World Fair. The second featured radio is from Zenith. The last radio is a Fada catalin from 1939.

1933 Stewart Warner Model 111-11

1933 was the worst year of the great Depression. Chicago held a worlds fair. There was many exibits for the public to tour. Despite the hard times hudge crowds came to see the exibits. Radio was a big attraction and electronic television was there too. The fairs theame was A Celebration of Progress. Stewart Warner came out with this radio for the fair. The brass and metal figurine on the front add a nice Art Deco touch to this radio.

1938 Zenith 6D311

Zenith added some high style to this table set in 1938. The sweeping speaker grill work and the curving dial on the right front side. Noitice the thin openings between the grill bars for the speaker. Only two control knobs on this set. The volume control is piggybacked with the tuning conrol behind it. When new this radio retailed for $24.95.

1939 FADA L56 Catalin Radio

Pictured above is the 1939 FADA L56 catalin table radio. This one is orange and black. I wish the picture was alittle clearer. This radio was made in other color choices.
