Squall Leonhart

This is the main character in FFVIII, Squall Leonhart. He is training to become a member of the legendary SeeD. He carries a unique sword around known as the "gunblade." This weapon is a combination of a sword and gun,when the trigger is pulled justed before impact, does extra damage. According to Square, he has "little sense of comradship for the people around him." Another interesting aspect of Squall is the Griffon-like sybmol he wears on a necklace. This symbol also appears near the barrel on the Gunblade. His first name means "passing shower," which implicates Squall's unique assertiveness. The last name, Leonhart, is from an early Final Fantasy game which was for the Famicom, it never came to North America.

Rinoa is a very cheerful, bouncy girl. She is honest and loves speaking her mind with others. She is really warm-harted, and her compassion and tenderness make her a very likable character in the game. She uses a projectile weapon called the Blaster Edge (similar to how boomerang's work in other RPG's). Rinoa grew up in a forest town called Timber (nice name huh). I'm not sure the story behind this next part, but one day Galbadia soldiers take over her town. Rinoa acts against this by creating a resistance movement called "Owl of the Forest." Galbadia later declairs an all out war against the world. Rinoa learns that a witch (Edea) is behind the actions of Galbadia and seeks out the help of SeeD. She ends up getting Squall, Seifer, and Zell to accompany her to a town called Dollet.

In the picture below of Seifer, he seems to have a scar on the top part of his face, very similar to Squall's. The difference in that the one Seifer has runs almost perpendicular to the one that Squall has. Seifer is very a very strong and skillful character. He is very curious in a way though. Not very much is known about his background. It looks like he is the leader of Squad B in SeeD. This is the squad in which Squall belongs. Two of Seifer's major down falls are his lack of authority and his short-termpered attitude. Although this isn't always a bad thing. He will only not follow an order is he thinks he has a better one. When he first relizes how exelent a fighter Squall is, Seifer considers him a rival. Seifer is also a law enforcer at the Balamb Garden, assisted by Raijin and Fuujin.

Zell has been with Garden since the young age of 13. He is following in his grandfather's footsteps who was a proud and powerful soldier. He's a very straight forward and honest fighter. Zell is very skilled in martial arts which makes him a very powerfull fighter. He tends to be very short tempered, but this doesn't seem to concern him in the very least. Surprisingly with his short temperedness, Zell has a very good sense of humor. He is not a very serious person because he grew up in a very wealthy family.

    Quistis Trepe

Quistis has amazing fighting skills. She joinded Garden at the young age of ten, and then with her skills, she was accepted into SeeD at the age of 15, which is almost never heard of. She started teaching at Garden when she was 18. Her pupils called her "Trepe Teacher."

Not a lot is known about Edea. What we know for sure is that she is the evil force that Squall is out to destroy. She is not alone however, she comes from a family of very powerful witches. No one known the reason's behind her evil intentions. Edea is very skillfull when it comes to magic. Her powers are just incredible. She will be a very tought character in the game for Squall and his friends.*She is also he formaer wife of Cid.

She joined the Garden as a recomendation to SeeD. Selphie is a class mate of Squall's there. She is a very talented fighter and has a child-like heart. There is not a lot of information known about Selphie so far.
