hello all
I am a busy man. I wish I had better things to do then spending time trying to kill this virus intent upon murdering my wife. If someone had recognized and irradicated this virus 20 years ago, I would not be watching my wife's body wasting away before my eyes. If I could I would personally hunt down and destroy every little HCV in existence. But I need help from scientists, politicians, journalists and my fellow tax payers. They must all be convinced of the seriousnes of this epidemic and I need ya'll to help me. We must share information with each other so we know how to present ourselves to those who would help us.
These are not abstract ideas we are dealing with, this disease affects real people in a very real way.
There are many great scientic institutions in this country. I am currently a nurse at one of the greats- MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. They are on the cutting edge of international cancer research. They also make mistakes. The fact is, even the best instiutions don't know everything about all diseases, but I believe they have the best intentions. It is up to us to help them understand how HCV affects those it infects. We are part of a grassroots movement and controversy is naturally present, and even necessary. I may not like what another has to say but man, after 4 years of fighting the HCV alone, am I glad to hear them say it.
To my wife on our anniversary- you are my hero. If ever I must suffer as you do I hope that I display half the courage and strength I see in you. I love you and thanks for marrying me.
