New Songs from ‘The Best of Don Sanders’
Introduction and Index:
Over the years, the Lord has inspired me to write many new gospel songs (words + music):
- songs of personal testimony; songs of gospel truths; songs of renewal;
- some of these songs have been written in times of great joy and gladness;
- some have been inspired during times of grief or sadness or other strong emotion;
- other songs were written in times of praise, worship, adoration, thankfulness or servanthood To My LORD;
- most inspiration comes to me sponaneously: - while driving my car or riding on public transit, while watching Christian t.v., while I am attending a gospel service or concert, late at night while in my bed thinking or praying and listening for God to answer; etc; (I have a lot of sleepless nights; but that's ok, because HE is holding me tight!)
- rarely do I sit down and say to myself - "I am going to write a song today about 'such & such' " - it usually does not happen that way;
- some songs come into my spirit, complete with music, within a few minutes total, needing only minor editing later;
- at other times, the music comes into my spirit many months before the words do;
- and still other times, I have a 'kernel' of an idea for a song, but it takes some weeks or months to bring it to fruition.
On these pages I am now publishing some of my songs. (Sorry, this program won’t let me give you the music. That will be a new project, hopefully for 2005.)
