I WAS GLAD WHEN THEY SAID UNTO ME
1. I was glad when they said unto me
‘Let us go into the house of the Lord.’
Yesterday and forever, He’s always the same -
Jesus said: ‘Come and I will give you rest’.
Ch: His name is Jesus, wonderful Jesus.
He’s Jesus, my wonderful Lord.
He lives inside me, to lead and guide me,
He’s Jesus, my wonderful Lord.
2. I’m so glad Jesus lives within my heart.
When He saved me, He gave a brand new start.
He’s my Saviour, my Brother, my Master and my Friend,
And I know He’ll be with me to the end.
3. So I’ll praise Him as long as I live,
And I’ll sing of His love for all men.
Those who hear and obey, and trust in Jesus’ blood
Will receive - everlasting life.
4. I will lift up my hands unto the Lord,
I will shout with the joy of victory;
Jesus saves and He heals, and He fully satisfies;
Jesus gives me a song in the night.
5. For the joy of the Lord is my strength,
And the oil of His gladness overflows;
Celebrate all the goodness of Jesus, our Lord -
Give Him glory, and sing along with me: -
- This song is the simple testimony of my life with Jesus:
V 1 – I learned these verse in the United Church, when I was about 7 or 8 years old;
V 2 – I was born again at the age of 12 in an ‘Alliance Church’;
V 3 – I loved to sing to the Lord from a young age;
V 4 & 5 – at age of 42, I entered into the ‘Charismatic Renewal’,
and entered into a whole new dimension in worship and other areas of my life.
