chapter 15~walking at night

"Bye mom! Bye dad!" I called. "Love you, I'll miss you!"

We had now been in Tulsa for two weeks. After our week trying to help Taylor, I spent a week at home with my parents. Unfortunately though, I wouldn't get to spend Christmas with them, as the tour was scheduled to start back up the following day.

The people at the record company were anxious to get the tour back in full swing, but Walker, Zac and Isaac were hesitant, and insisted that it would be better for Taylor to have an extra week. It was Taylor himself though, that insisted the show must go on. And so everybody listened, for Taylors well-being.

The fans never found out what really happened that night. There was a rumor that went around that a crazed fan snuck into his room and tried to attack him. The boys assured them and the press that Taylor had simply fainted, because of an allergy to some flu pills he had taken. And thats what everybody was to beleive. It wasn't that they liked keeping secrets from the fans. Its just that Taylor wouldn't have ever gotten any better, if everybody dwelled on and accident he'd rather leave behind. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It was 10:30 pm when my parents dropped me off at the Hansons house. We were all tired, and had to get going really early in the morning, so we all decided to get to sleep right away. I immediately found my way to the couch, and fell asleep in no time.

"Adrian" a voice cooed in my ear. "Already?" I asked, barely awake. I sat up.

"No." it was Zac. "Its only 2:30, but I wanted to go for a walk. Come with me?"

I looked at him like he was crazy for a second, and then decided to go with him. Me and Zac hadn't had any time alone since the hospital. "Sure, Zac. I'll go with you." I said, and climbed out of bed. Zac threw me a sweatshirt, and we walked quietly to the door. To my surprise, it wasn't that cold outside. It looked like a dream, the whole world blanketed in white. I sighed, and my breath froze midair. Zac and I walked silently until we reached a clearing in some trees in the park. There was a fallen tree in the middle, and a plastic garbage bag on top. "Lets sit down." Zac said.

"Sure" I said smiling.

We sat down beside each other, an uncomfortable silence falling over us. We shyly watched eachother. Then, like something from a movie, our eyes locked. Zac slowly drew nearer, and our lips met. That morning we kissed until the sun began to rise. It was such a wonderful experience for me, and I found myself wishing again that this moment would never end, as I often did when I was with Zac. Our lips just felt so right together, mingling with one another.

As the sun began to break over the rooftops, our lips parted. "We'd better get back, Adrian." Zac whispered in my ear. I nodded. We walked back to the house, our arms around eachother. We leaned close, like we could never be close enough. I learned something that night. I learned that I wanted to be with Zac for a very long time, and that there were so many things that I wanted to share with him. But I could stand to wait, because I knew we would be together a very long time. I looked over at Zac, and I could tell he felt the same. "I love you, Adrian." he said.
