R A N T I N G S

When something Buffy-related is really bugging us, here's where we go to vent our frustration.

Xander, you big buffoon, just hurry up and decide who you like!! Or is that just anything female and breathing - actually, make that anything that looks female and looks alive - recognises your existence? In any case, stop the Angel bashing, you loser! He could whip your sorry ass any day - the difference is, he wouldn't waste his time. He has a life! (Albeit not in the human sense, but hey why be confined by convention, right?)

OK, really bugging me - why the heck does Angel follow Buffy into his bedroom while she's undressing in Surprise?! Oh yeah, very in character for our gentleman Angel to take advantage of a woman when she's wet (ooh, in the non-NC17 sense!) and vulnerable.

What the hell does Buffy's dream(s) in Surprise mean?!

Dru completely wrecked her character by over-psychotising after Angel arrived to take over as numero-uno Bad guy. Spike so deserves better than that loony. Say someone more level-headed and appreciative of his good looks and humour - say like - Buffy...

I am so pissed off that they didn't deal with the wrath of Angelus, and his holiday in Hell, after Angel returned. You cheated us of some really meaty heartwrench, Joss! Humph.

Why is Angel such a bloomin lackey to all his women?!! Buffy, Darla, Faith, Dru. Angelus was a real man, he took no crap from no-one.

OK, what's the deal with those claddagh rings?! Does Angel still have his?

What the heck happened to Scott?! He appeared from nowhere, pissed us off, and then disappeared to nowhere again. The least they could've done was killed him off, sheesh!

I'm so annoyed with how they dealt with Angel pretending to be bad, post-Enemies. They pretty much completely ignoed the Angelus flashback, and focussed soley on the Faith-Angel thing with Buffy having visits from the Green-eyed monster. Sure, it's all part of the kill Faith build up, but I think Buffy would have realistically been more shaken up by her boyfriend doing a Mr Hyde, than a jealousy that was way overplayed. I mean come on, she knows how devoted Angel is to her, and how he would NEVER EVER be with someone else. (You listening there, Joss?)

Note how in Choices, Buffy is all prepped to go to North-Western Uni. And yet, she chooses Sunnydale Uni, telling Angel that she will be close to his place that way. Hmmmm....

Choices: The Buffster was tres getting on my nerves with her fake "I'm not blaming anyone, I just wanna get Willow back" version - as if! Really, she jsut felt all high and mightly about it not being her fault. And her treatment of Westley is way harsh; yeah, he's a loser, but he does come up with a few lightbulbs now and again, and anyways Buff, remember that timeless classic called respecting your elders? Plus, he's kinda cute ;0>

OK, Joss really needs to figure out his Watcher Council arc thing. Why the *heck* would the Council need to test Buffy with that 18th b'day helpless against an unbeatable vamp scenario? That has to be the *dumbest* thing ever on the show! She's the *chosen* one - not only does she have supernatural powers that give her the necessary edge, but for god's sake - she's the *only* one!! So what if she doesn't pass that uncalled for test - it's not like there's anyone else out there competing with her! She didn't choose Slayership, it chose her. Why should she be held accountable for a job she isn't even paid for?!! (That was sorta metaphorical btw.) Get it right!

I HATE how Buffy always calls Angel her 'boyfriend', especially when she's all out to protect him and stuff, ugh. (Eg. WML2, Surprise) First of all, hunny, he's like 225 years older than you, so he most certainly does *not* come under the boy category. But more importantly, that casual title demeans his godliness. Angel is not of this world; he is from a realm above and should not be classed among his mortal (completely unsatisfying and ordinary) male counterparts. Buffy gurl, you sure don't deserve his Worship. (Give him to me!)

Okay, it's official. I HATE Riley. Can a more blah character have been invented? Adding insult to injury, though, is the fact that Buffy positively moons over this idiot. Can someone please explain why? I mean she had Angel, how could she even compare the two. All I can say is that Angel's love is wasted on this heartless hussy! Okay, now I feel much better.

Why is that when Angel was Buffy's honey, there were many episodes where he was only in one or two scenes, but since Riley has become Buffy's honey, he's in practically everyone of single scene? Are they trying to ram the idiot down our throats or what?

The measely one B/A scene in Homecoming:
B: “... And - I’m involved with someone...” Angel looks stunned, fixes her jacket collar. “His name is Scott. He’s a nice, solid guy. He makes me happy... And that’s what I need - someone I can count on.”
Oh for Christ’s sake, Sensitivity-girl!! The man’s just returned from a lifetime of torture in the sinister fires of Hell. D’ya have to be so damn harsh?!? Sheesh!

In Band Candy, Buffy brings Angel a carton of blood, and he receives it eagerly. Then, all of a sudden conscious of the grotesqueness of drinking in front of her, he lays it aside.
Compare: In Sanshu, Reformed-girl Cordelia basically shoves the blood down Angel’s throat to assure him it’s OK to drink in front of her and Wes. After all, they’re one big oh-so-happy “family” now. Puke.

So what’s the message we’re supposed to take from this, Joss? OK we get that Buffy doesn’t wanna deal with Angel’s demon half, and that Angel is quite ashamed of who that side of himself. But to sput his identity-acceptance character development through Cordelia’s unrealistic empathy?!? I think not! For all Buffy’s teenage selfishness, to contrast her lack of understanding with Tact-girl Cordelia - now that’s just foul play on us shippers and you know it! Grrrrr..... :0(((((

Neesh
