      Charles E. Pollard invented a machinist's block. One half was assigned to Edmund S. Stiles. Patent #399,926 Mar. 19, 1889. See section 3 for the patent papers. See Section 6 for more Middletown patents. Charles E. Pollard is listed in the 1882-87 Middletown City Directory as a Machinist at the Stiles & Parker Co. In 1887-88 as Foreman Machinist at the same company.
