How to Polish the Internals
By Erik Johnson

Alright, this isn't as difficult as many would think. Although a dremel isn't a bad idea, it also isn't necessary. I didn't use a dremel and I think mine looks fine. Before I did anything I took my gun apart and wiped out all the junk with a clean rag. Then I got some very fine sandpaper (emery paper) or a fine steel wool from a local hardware store etc. Now sand down ALL THE AREAS WITH MOVING PARTS. The idea here is to sand just enough to take that black anodizing off. I sanded for at least an hour to get that black anodizing out of mine. It's time consuming but it's pretty easy. After I sanded mine out, I used a metal polished called Mother's Mag &Aluminum Polish to smooth everything out and make it shine! Make sure you buff out the polish with a rag and re-oil the gun properly. A Pic of what a properly polished 98 should look like (mine could stand a little more, and I still need to finish the other side, but you get the idea) Heres a little movie to show you how to do it.
