Who’s That Officer? By Marthe Elsbeth Of Oak HillSeneschal - The main administrator of the Kingdom or group. Sort of the Regional President. In charge of the calendar, Kingdom law, and group formation.Earl Marshal - In charge of all martial activities in the Kingdom, wars, tourneys, rapier, archery, and equestrian. Handles authorizations and rule changes. Herald - The Voice of the Crown in Royal Court. Also handles submissions of names and arms for individuals, order of precedence, training of new heralds, list minister for Kingdom events, scrolls for awards. Minister of Arts & Sciences (MoAS) - handles the Guilds of the Kingdom, the Kingdom Arts and Sciences event, the dissemination of period A&S information and encouragement of A&S activities. Chronicler - responsible for the publishing of the Kingdom newsletter called Popular Chivalry, and the Kingdom Arts and Sciences newsletter called Seasons. (note you may hear Popular Chivalry referred to as Pop-chiv.) Chancellor of the Exchequer - the Treasurer for the Kingdom. Makes sure the financial dealings of the Kingdom are properly reported. Handles Kingdom Regalia. Chirurgeon - The officer in charge of our safety and health. This officer is in charge of first aid, and helps when a trip to the hospital is needed. Water bearing (providing water to fighters) falls under this office. Chatelaine - Responsible for new person information, and media relations, public demos and loaner gear. Sheriff - handles the paperwork from events, reports misconduct at events and inventories lost and found. Minister of Children - provides activities for children, and runs the Page School. Royal University of Meridies (RUM) - Has a Chancellor, Provost, and Dean, just like a mundane university. RUM is a focus for the educational opportunities within the Kingdom. |
