Bill's Notes: This is a popular New Zealand Trout Lure that I tied for use as a steelhead fly. The original is credited to Fred Fletcher of Taupo. The chenille colors can be changed while the original was tied in red or black, yellow and green are also popular colors. An excellent book on these New Zealand flies is The Complete Guide to New Zealand Trout Lures by Derek Quillam.
