Salmonfly.Net began taking photo submissions from readers and posting them as "Photos of the Month" on the home page in 1999. We no longer post them to the home page as a photo of the month, but we will continue to take photo submissions, post them to these archive pages, and occasionally post one on the home page as an example. See below how to submit your photo.

John Garret, of Garrett's Guide Service in Carson, WA, displays a beautiful, chrome Chinook caught on a fly on the Nushagak River in Alaska on his 7 weight fly rod! Ed Vanderlip caught this huge buck using a single handed custom build Orvis Trident with an ATH reel on a visit to Kispiox River with some friends.

Sea Trout caught by a friend of contributing fly tyer, Yuri Shumakov with one of Yuri's tube flies while on a fishing trip in Poland over the winter. A nice Silver caught last October on the Carbon River in Orting by Tom Stoltenberg of Puyallup, Washington. Sam Bishop, of Soquel, CA. proudly displays a 33 inch Striper he caught last month on a tan & white #2 Clouser while fly fishing the surf in Monterey Bay near Watsonville.

2005 Submissions

2004 Submissions

Contributing Fly Tyer, John Glaspy, displays the successfull results of casting his Pacific Salmon Spey flies. Dr. Todd Luckasevic with a beautiful steelhead caught in November 2003 on Walnut Creek in Erie Pa. Evidence of the effectivenes of a Yuri Shumakov tube fly -Atlantic Salmon taken on the Kola. 2003 Submissions

Kevin Veator from Wilmington, MA., proudly displays a colorful Sockeye caught while fishing the Russian River in Alaska. Erwin, holding with a bright 38 inch Steelhead landed in Mid-December on Oregon's John Day River. Oregon fly fisherman, Isaac Bowen hefts a huge, fly caught King landed while fishing the Feather river near Oroville. Kristine Wimer with her first fly caught Chinook, a 32# hen taken in Southern BC. The ecstatic fisherwoman was swinging a Paint Brush.

Craig and Jenny Tinder landed another Chum Salmon in Southern British Columbia. Ralphy, a hefty Brown Trout, fondly named by Leon Guthrie, taken a second time by Leon on a Mayfly Nymph. Brett Miller, about to release a nice Pinook (Pink/Chinook cross-breed) he caught last Fall on a small river in Ontario. 2001 Submissions

Tom Stoltenberg of Lakewood, Washington displays a nice example of a Washington Chum Salmon, caught on the Humptulips River, Washington. Steve of Lacey, Washington brought this King, caught from the Nisqually River, home to show off to his bewildered daughters. Joe Roope of Castaway Fly shop in Couer d'Alene Idaho with a beautiful wild steelhead he took on the clearwater with an Articulated Leech pattern. Joe was fishing with  Jeff Jarrett of Jarrett's Guide Service,  Orofino, Idaho. John Moss of Lacey, Washington with a chrome bright Winter Run Steelhead he hooked in the Kalama this fall. Jeff Jarrett of Jarrett's Guide Service, Orofino, Idaho and a happy client displaying a beautiful 37 Matt Landry releasing a wild doe steelhead back to the Vedder River, Brittish Columbia. Tom Stoltenberg of Lakewood, Washington displays again one of the reasons he loves the Humptulips River. Idaho fly tyer Clark Lucas, originator of some of the extraordinary spey flies you see on this site, happily displayes a 37 in. Hatchery Chinook Salmon he took using his Salmon Threat Hairwing on the South Fork Salmon River. Fly Fisherman Phil Jahn with a beautiful 38 in. Steelhead  caught on the South fork of the Salmon River, Idaho in March. California Fly Fisherman, Michael Freeman proudly displays this chrome bright steelhead caught on a trip to Brittish Columbia. Oregon Fly Fisherman, Bret Penselin carefully lifts one of the large Chums he caught on the Miami River using a green leech pattern.
