This version of Golden Demon was tied by Salmonfly.Net Contributing Fly Tyer William Lovelace for the Salmonfly.Net issue "All that Glitters is not Gold". In this case we have one of the exceptions in another fly tied with a gold tinsel body.

Read more about William Lovelace and see more of his flies at The Flies of William Lovelace.

Bill's Notes: This is a traditional Steelhead fly popularized by Zane Grey on the North Umpqua River. It is tied in several variations. Zane Grey brought the fly back from fishing in New Zealand. This pattern is listed as Zane Grey’s Golden Demon in Trey Comb’s book Steelhead Fly Fishing.
