Starburst Centerpiece
Starburst Centerpiece Designed By: Annabelle Keller, SCD, CPD
Use serrated knife, cut 5"x7"x2" rectangle from foam sheet. (Hint: For smoother cuts, wax knife blade with old candle.) Use melon baller or sharp spoon, carefully scoop out cavity in vase bottom large enough to hold lead weights & leave 1/2" wall intact around cavity. Center & glue red & white stripe fabric around rectangle, turn under end. Fold over & glue excess fabric to top & bottom of vase. Use cookie cutter as pattern, cut out 2 star shapes from blue fabric. Glue to upper left-hand corner on each side of vase. Glue weights in cavity at bottom of vase. Glue scraps of 1" foam around & over weights to hold in place. Glue felt to bottom of vase, trim edges if necessary. For added sparkle, spray vase with glitter spray (opt). Using scissors blade, curl selected streamers on several pics. With wire cutters, trim 3 1/2" from stem of each pic. Arrange pics in center top of vase. Glue basket filler to top of vase.
