Put all the ingredients except the almonds into a large heavy-based saucepan
and stir over a low heat until the sugar has dissolved. Stop stirring and
bring to the boil. Keep the mixture boiling gently, stirring occasionally,
until it has reached 120 o C. This can take an hour or two. Meanwhile,
peel and finely chop the almonds. Once the required temperature has been
reached, add the almonds and remove the saucepan from the heat. Use a small
jug to pour the mixture into tiny cake cases (about 2 cm in diameter).
Leave to cool.
