As our visual
enviornment becomes more
and
more cramped with the language and iconography
of the
Market, it is
more important than ever to have an
understanding of
the goals
and methods of Advertising.
We
will look at the tools used by Advertisers to approach us, and in
particular teens,
who above all, desire to be seen as "cool" in the eyes of their
peers. We will try to
use this insight to answer to what extent corporations will go to
position
themselves as "cool" in the eyes of teenagers?
This WebQuest hopes
to provide techniques that can be used to
examine
critically
the message of Advertising in order to develop
ways to
counter its often corosive
effects.
