Do
Soft Coated Wheatens shed?
Are they hypo-allergenic?
.
All
dogs shed, but the Wheaten is a single-coated dog and generally sheds very
little. So they are considered, "NON-SHEDDING." Because Wheaties do not seasonally "blow"
their coat as do many other
breeds.

.
Wheatens often appear on lists of dogs which are good for people with
allergies, and this is partially true because of their non-shedding coat.
However, many allergies result from exposure to dog's dander, saliva, or natural
oils rather than hair and Wheaties produce all of these. Each person's allergies
are different so a person who suffers from allergies. Generally Soft Coated Wheatens
are one of the best choices when seeking a hypo-allergenic dog, because of it's
non-shedding feature.
