Patrick sensed that something was wrong with Robin. Robin admitted that she was a bit queasy, so she intended to find some crackers to help settle her stomach before she took her meds. Patrick thought that perhaps she was having trouble because of stress. He reminded her that stress could affect her immune system. Robin informed him that being cheated on was a stressful situation, so she couldn't help it.

Robin decided that they should focus on protecting their daughter. She admitted that Lisa was scary because she could act very normal and be quite convincing. Lisa wasn't predictable like standard stalkers or obsessed people. Patrick pointed out that they knew what was really going on with Lisa, so they were a step ahead of her.

Later, Robin nibbled on some crackers when Mac entered the living room. Mac couldn't believe that Robin still had to take so many medications. Robin assured her uncle that it wasn't nearly as bad as it looked; many of the pills were vitamin supplements. Mac was frustrated because Robin and Patrick had decided to work together to prove that Lisa was a threat to Robin and Emma. Mac feared that Robin and Patrick would use the opportunity to work things out. Robin wondered why she shouldn't try to save her marriage. Mac knew from personal experience that love was not always enough. He wanted better for Robin than a man who would cheat on her.

Later, Robin was about to take her medications when the doorbell rang. It was Matt. Matt told her about his argument with Patrick. Matt believed that Robin had a right to know that Patrick had plans to meet Lisa at Jake's. Matt felt terrible that his brother had hurt Robin so deeply. Robin was touched by Matt's concern. She invited him into the living room and then promised to explain everything after she took her medications.

She explained that she had been trying to take the pills all day, but kept getting interrupted. After Robin swallowed her pills, she explained to Matt that she and Patrick had been working together to expose Lisa for whom she really was. Robin revealed that Lisa was seriously disturbed. Matt had his doubts, but he was worried that if Lisa were truly as crazy as Robin and Patrick suspected then Lisa might pose a danger to Patrick if she realized what he was up to.

At Jake's, Patrick was shocked when Lisa suggested that they slow things down. Lisa explained that Patrick had not yet formally separated from Robin, so she was uncomfortable dating him. Lisa decided that it would be best to keep things professional until Patrick had legally severed ties with Robin.

9/23 At the nurses' station, Patrick was reviewing a chart when Lisa walked up. Lisa hoped that Patrick was okay with her decision to cancel their NASCAR weekend. Patrick claimed that he had been looking forward to it, but he respected her decision. However, Patrick let her know that he intended to watch the race at home, so he invited her to join him. "Maybe," Lisa told him before she confessed that she was surprised that Patrick wasn't trying to work things out with Robin.

Patrick confided that Mac's house was enemy territory. Lisa didn't drop it; she admitted that she didn't understand why he had given up so easily. Patrick explained that he had realized that marriage wasn't for him. However, he was curious what had prompted all the questions. Patrick pointed out that Lisa had seemed interested in him until she had suddenly bailed on their weekend. Lisa chuckled as she observed that Patrick hadn't changed a bit; he never really wanted her until she was about to slip away.

Lisa started to walk away, but Patrick followed her. He apologized if he had made her feel that way; it hadn't been his intention. Lisa assured Patrick that she had always loved him and continued to love him, but she wanted to be honest with him. Patrick explained that he was trying to balance losing his marriage and being a father to Emma. Lisa insisted that she needed to get some perspective on the situation. Patrick backed down, but he let her know that his offer to watch the race and drink beer would remain open.

After Patrick walked away, a nurse approached Lisa to let her know that a doctor wanted to see Lisa about the tranquilizer that Lisa had ordered. The doctor wanted to administer it to one of his patients, but he wanted Lisa's advice first. Lisa wondered if the nurse had mentioned to the doctor that Lisa had used the medication, but the nurse assured her that she hadn't. The nurse explained that the doctor wanted to talk to Lisa because Lisa knew more about the drug than anyone else on staff. Lisa smiled as she agreed to meet the doctor, but after the nurse walked away, Lisa's expression changed to one of extreme annoyance.

At Mac's house, Robin prepared to take Emma to Maxie's apartment for a visit. Robin appeared forgetful as she tried to pack a bag for Emma. Eventually, Robin headed to the car with her daughter in her arms. In the car, Robin offered to stop off to get Emma some ice cream before they went to Maxie's apartment. However, moments later, Robin fell asleep behind the wheel of the car.

Patrick entered Mac's house, looking for Robin. He became concerned when he noticed that Emma's bag had been left in the living room, but there wasn't any sign of Robin or Emma.

9/24 Robin sat in the driver's seat of her crashed car, but Emma appeared to be unscathed, protected by her car seat. Soon after, a state trooper found the car and checked on Emma. He wondered why she was sitting in the car all by herself. Robin was gone.

Patrick went to Mac's office to tell her that something was wrong. Patrick explained that he'd gone to Mac's house to check on Robin and Emma, and the front door had been wide open. Emma's half-packed diaper bag had been sitting on the floor, and there appeared to have been a struggle. Patrick had gone to the hospital after that, but Robin and Emma hadn't been there, and Lisa was nowhere to be found. Neither Robin nor Lisa was answering their cell phones.

Mac didn't believe Patrick and suggested that Robin might have taken Emma for a drive or to the mall. He berated Patrick for being a lousy husband and insinuated that Patrick was using Lisa as a scapegoat for Patrick's own shortcomings. After Mac received the report of Robin's accident, he and Patrick went to the scene. Patrick made it clear that Robin would never have left Emma behind. Mac tried to reason that maybe Robin, dazed, had gone for help. Patrick pleaded with Mac to believe that Lisa had taken Robin and that they had to act quickly.

Robin lay on a couch in a cabin that belonged to a patient who'd allowed Lisa to stay there. Lisa hovered above Robin as Robin regained consciousness. Lisa asked how Robin had gotten there. Lisa seemed genuinely surprised when Robin frantically asked what Lisa had done with Emma. Lisa replied that she hadn't seen Emma since the night she'd taken her out for ice cream. Lisa explained that that she'd found the front door wide open and Robin out cold on the couch. Robin tried to remember what had happened prior to that but couldn't.

Lisa informed Robin that there was no cell reception and that the landline had been turned off. Lisa suggested that she drive somewhere her phone would work, but Robin assumed Lisa would just abandon her and go to get Emma. Lisa replied that Robin had gotten herself to the cabin and, if Robin couldn't remember what had transpired before that, she was more unstable than Lisa had previously thought. As Lisa drank a beer, she laid out a plan: they would wait until Robin was strong enough to travel, then Lisa would take Robin to the hospital.

Robin accused Lisa of having become unhinged. Lisa replied that Robin was the one who needed medication. Lisa bemoaned that she had been unwisely romantic and had carried a torch for Patrick for years. She recounted the steamy encounters she and Patrick had shared in college. She belittled Robin for not being as spontaneous. She continued her diatribe and called Robin a boring know-it-all. Lisa had convinced herself that Patrick had wanted to be with her when all he'd really wanted was a break from Robin, she spewed.

Patrick went to the hospital and informed Steven that Robin had been in an accident and was missing. Patrick said that Lisa was responsible but that Mac wouldn't believe it. Steven told Patrick that an orthopedic nurse who had frequently worked with Lisa had been found dead, apparently the result of a fall down the hospital stairs. Patrick posited that the woman had been Lisa's victim. It was too coincidental that a woman close to Lisa would have died in what appeared to be an accident the same day Robin went missing.

9/27 After tampering with Robin's HIV medication, Lisa kidnapped Robin and took her to an isolated cabin in the woods. Robin was groggy and wanted to know what had happened to Emma. Lisa denied any knowledge of Emma and said that she had found Robin wandering in the woods and had helped her to the cabin. Lisa tormented Robin by pretending to be helpful. When Robin wanted Lisa to call for help, Lisa refused and said that if she helped, Robin would use it against her.

Lisa made fun of Robin's penchant for order and routine and said that Robin had always been an old lady. Robin responded that Lisa was a slut trying to seduce a married man. Lisa wondered aloud why everyone deferred to Robin and her judgmental attitude. She answered her own question when she said that it was because Robin was HIV positive. Lisa said that Patrick had first slept with Robin because she was a challenge, but stuck with her because he did not want to appear prejudiced about her HIV status.

Robin was appalled and told Lisa that she was crazy and a kidnapper. Lisa said that she had just taken Emma for an ice cream, and Robin had overreacted. Lisa said she felt sorry for Emma because Robin was an attention seeker and probably jealous of Patrick's attention to Emma. Lisa told Robin that her outbursts at the hospital had probably gotten her some attention as the "cheated on" wife, but it had also gotten her suspended. Lisa advised Robin to get counseling. Robin said she would if Lisa would. Lisa said, "No thanks," and turned her back on Robin, who managed to shove her aside and escape the cabin.

Lisa ran to the door and called out for Robin. She said that she was planning to drive Robin back to Port Charles. When she heard Robin's scream in the distance, she got a big smile on her face as she went back inside the cabin and said, "Oh, well." Robin regained consciousness and found herself trapped in a deep well. She called out and begged Lisa for help. Lisa found Robin, but did not let Robin know she was nearby. She smiled as she listened to Robin plead for help. In the well, Robin continued to call for help and tried to climb out of the hole by clinging to the bricks that made up the walls.

At the hospital, Steve and Patrick discussed the dead nurse who had recently worked with Lisa. Patrick insisted that Lisa had murdered her, but Steve said that there was no proof. Patrick was convinced that Lisa had taken Robin, but when Ronnie arrived, he said that there was no evidence linking Lisa to Robin's disappearance, and he could not issue an arrest warrant. He told Patrick that Lisa was a person of interest, and he would question her when she was back at the hospital.

Lisa arrived at the hospital after Ronnie left. She said that she had been at the movies and her phone had been turned off, so she had not received her messages. Patrick and Steve tried to play Lisa. When Patrick asked for Lisa's help with a surgery, Steve wanted to know why he was not out looking for Robin. Lisa pretended to know nothing and expressed fake concern. Steve defended Robin and Patrick dissed her, even when Lisa offered an explanation of Robin's behavior. Patrick said that he had apologized for his affair with Lisa, and if Robin did not want to get past it, then he needed to move on. He and Steve exchanged conspiratorial looks when Lisa left the nurses' station.

9/28 At the police station, Mac revealed to Ronnie that Lisa was at the hospital. Ronnie thought that it would be the perfect opportunity to question Lisa about Robin's disappearance, but Mac explained that he had given Patrick an hour to manipulate Lisa into revealing where Robin was. Until then, Mac wanted Ronnie to impound Lisa's car and then to search Lisa's apartment. Ronnie pointed out that they didn't have a search warrant, so anything that they found wouldn't be admissible in court. Mac didn't care; he wanted his niece found. Later, Ronnie advised Mac against letting Patrick question Lisa. Ronnie explained that Patrick wasn't qualified to question a suspect, so he suggested that Mac go to the hospital and then drag Lisa to the police station for a proper interrogation.

At the hospital, Steve and Patrick put on an act for Lisa's benefit. Patrick pretended to be furious that Robin had left Emma in the car alone and then taken off. Steve insisted that Robin wouldn't leave Emma like that, but Patrick argued that Robin had done it before. Lisa questioned if perhaps it was another stunt for Robin to get some attention. Steve explained that Robin's car had been found in a ditch and that she might have suffered a head injury which had caused her to wander off. Patrick complained that Robin had left him and Emma before.

Patrick had been frantic with worry that time only to have Robin return to explain that she was taking a break from him and Emma. Steve pointed out that Robin had suffered from postpartum depression at the time. Patrick dismissed the excuse as he continued to act betrayed and angry by Robin's latest abandonment. Steve warned Patrick that they might be on the wrong track and that Robin was hurt; however, Patrick insisted that Robin was just punishing him for cheating on her.

Later, Patrick and Lisa were reviewing a chart. Lisa caught a minor error that Patrick had made, but she attributed it to Patrick being distracted. Patrick wondered why she was being so nice to him suddenly. Lisa admitted that she figured that he had enough to worry about. Lisa then pretended to put a positive spin on Robin's disappearance by reminding him that Robin had returned before. Patrick made it clear that he was not okay with Robin leaving their daughter in a car on the side of the road.

Patrick and Lisa were startled when Mac marched up to the nurses' station to slap a pair of handcuffs on Lisa and then inform her that he was taking her to the police station for questioning. Patrick was livid; he tried to get Mac to back off, but Mac ignored him. Patrick then turned to Steve for help, but there was little that Steve could do to stop Mac. After Lisa was carted away, Patrick complained that Mac had probably just ruined their only chance to learn where Robin was.

Patrick went to Jason's penthouse to enlist Spinelli's help to find Robin. Patrick quickly explained the situation to Spinelli. Spinelli realized that Robin was in a dire situation, so he promised to do everything in his power to find out what he could about Lisa. Patrick was confident that there was a trail to follow because Lisa had planned everything carefully. Patrick was certain that the kidnapping wasn't an exception.

Mac entered the interrogation room where Lisa patiently waited. Mac demanded to know where Robin was. Lisa reminded him that she had a right to legal representation, but she assured him that she had no idea where Robin was. Mac insisted that Robin would never abandon Emma in a car. Lisa tried to turn the tables on Mac by suggesting that he was targeting her because she was Patrick's lover. Lisa claimed that she had been mortified that he had handcuffed and then led her away in front of her coworkers. Mac was unapologetic as his temper flared over Lisa's lack of cooperation. Lisa swore that she didn't know where Robin was, but Mac didn't believe her.

Mac assured Lisa that she wasn't the first "whack-job" that he had encountered over the years. Mac informed her that he had dealt with people like Ryan Chamberlain, Faith Roscoe, and Jerry Jax. According to Mac, Lisa was an amateur compared to them, so her little act, where she pretended to be normal, didn't fly with him. He made it clear that he would do whatever was necessary to get the truth out of her.

In the well, Robin was determined to climb out. She refused to give in to the panic, so she spoke as if Emma were there with her. Robin slowly made her way up to the top of the well, but at the halfway point, Robin lost her grip and then fell. Robin dusted herself off, gathered her strength and then began the climb again. Robin almost reached the top, but the well proved to be too slippery.

Robin once again fell to the bottom of the well. Robin's strength drained out of her until she heard someone call her name. "Stone?" Robin called out with disbelief. Moments later, Stone appeared before Robin. He knelt down before her and then asked, "Robin, what are you doing down here?"

9/29 At Jason's penthouse, Spinelli informed Patrick that he couldn't find any evidence of wrongdoing in Lisa's emails. Patrick insisted that there had to be some kind of trail that could lead them to where Lisa had taken Robin. Patrick wanted Spinelli to keep searching, but Spinelli suggested that Patrick might be wrong about Lisa.

Patrick argued that it didn't make sense for Robin to suddenly disappear, so he was certain that Lisa had kidnapped her. Spinelli continued to search, but eventually he had exhausted all avenues without any new results. Spinelli worried that Patrick might be missing an important clue because he was indulging in a conspiracy theory. Spinelli advised Patrick to open his eyes to other possibilities.

At the hospital, Patrick spotted Lisa near the nurses' station. He approached her to see if she were okay. Lisa confided that she was trying to take everything in stride, but she had been unnerved by Mac's brutal interrogation and the way that Mac had denied her the opportunity to call an attorney. Lisa was also upset because they had impounded her car and then searched her apartment.

Patrick pretended to sympathize with Lisa's situation. He explained that Mac was having difficulty accepting that Robin had taken off. Patrick admitted that everything had changed for him when Robin had abandoned their daughter in the car. He expressed regret over being unfaithful to Robin, but Lisa explained that he had cheated on his wife because he was unhappy, and he knew, in his heart, that Robin was the wrong woman for him.

Lisa and Patrick were startled when they saw Mac walk up to them. Patrick insisted that Lisa had been through enough. Mac conceded that Lisa was clean; however, Patrick was under arrest for assault and kidnapping. Lisa was stunned as Mac handcuffed Patrick.

At the bottom of the well, Robin smiled with joy as Stone knelt before her and then asked, "Robin, what are you doing down here?" Robin didn't want to question what Stone was doing in the well with her, but Stone reminded her that she questioned everything. "Am I dying?" Robin wondered. "I hope not," Stone answered. Robin and Stone talked about how much they had missed each other. Robin confessed that his death still hurt her.

Robin admitted that she had tried to prepare herself for his passing, but she had never really been ready to lose him. Stone revealed that he had been able to let go when he had seen her standing by the window. He knew that she would be able to move forward. Robin told Stone how much he had meant to her. Stone smiled as they reminisced about the exciting and special times that they had shared. Robin confessed that it had been the best time of her life.

"Even though I left you to live with HIV?" Stone asked. Stone blamed himself for her illness, but Robin insisted that he had been the love of her life. She realized that he hadn't known that he had passed his disease on to her. Stone wanted Robin to see him for who he was because he feared that she wouldn't be able to move forward otherwise. Robin admitted that she wished that she hadn't because she had met Patrick, fallen in love, and then he had cheated on her. Robin was certain that Stone would never have broken her heart like that.

"How do you know that?" Stone wondered. Robin explained that she knew Stone. Stone argued that she had known a nineteen-year-old boy who had a death sentence. His time had been limited, so they had no way of knowing if their relationship would have stood the test of time. Robin was certain that it would have because they had loved each other. Stone asked Robin to tell him about Patrick.

Robin admitted that she and Patrick had gotten off to a rocky start because he had been a skirt-chasing doctor with a big ego. However, everything changed when he had been exposed to an AIDS patient's blood during surgery. Patrick had been forced to take drug therapy until blood tests had confirmed that he hadn't been infected.

According to Robin, during that time, she had gotten to know Patrick as a kind and vulnerable man that she wanted to marry. "Then you got everything that I wished for you," Stone softly replied. Robin explained that she had believed Patrick when he had told her that he wanted to be a husband and father, but he hadn't really been committed.

"Making a new life with someone, while holding on to the past," Stone observed. "Exactly," Robin agreed. "Kind of like what you're doing with me?" Stone wondered. Robin was hurt that Stone would compare her honoring the memory of someone she had loved to Patrick's cheating.

Stone argued that there were two sides to every story. He was curious how Robin had been honoring him. Robin confessed that she had looked at photo albums filled with pictures of her and Stone and that she had read her old diaries from when she had been dating Stone. She had also worked for the AIDS wing. Robin didn't understand what was wrong with any of that. "Nothing," Stone admitted. However, he suggested that if she were to put it all together then it painted a clear picture that there was a part of Robin's heart that was out of Patrick's reach.

Stone was curious if Robin wished that she had died when he had. "No, never," Robin revealed. Robin loved her life, her career, her family, and her daughter. She confessed that she had almost named her Anna Karen, as she and Stone had discussed, but then she had changed her mind because Emma was real, not a dream.

Robin refused to let Emma grow up without her because her daughter needed her. Robin was determined to get home, but she promised that she would always love Stone. Stone assured her that he would always be a part of her. Stone's image slowly faded until Robin was once again alone at the bottom of the well.

9/30 In the interrogation room at the police station, Patrick was furious that Mac had arrested him. Patrick felt that an entire night had been wasted when he could have been looking for Robin. Steve conceded that Mac had overreacted, but he reminded Patrick that Mac had been looking for Robin. Patrick was worried about Emma, but Steve assured him that Emma's nanny had taken good care of Patrick's daughter. Patrick was frustrated because he knew that there wasn't any evidence against him.

Steve was confident that Patrick would be released, so he suggested that they proceed with Patrick's plan by checking if any of Lisa's wealthy patients had cabins or houseboats, in secluded areas, near where Robin's car had been found. Lisa watched Patrick and Steve through the window for a minute and then entered the interrogation room. Steve and Patrick didn't miss a beat as they explained that they had been discussing hospital business. Lisa suggesting that Robin was likely holed up in a hotel room, enjoying room service. Steve hoped that Lisa was right.

After Steve left, Lisa handed Patrick a cup of coffee and a doughnut that she had picked up for him. He appreciated her consideration; he needed all the friends that he could get. Lisa reached out to gently stroke his hand. She didn't think that Mac could keep him in custody indefinitely. Patrick wanted Robin to return safe and sound for Emma's sake. Lisa was certain that Emma would be fine. Patrick hid his surprise when Lisa offered to take some ice cream to Emma later that day.

Mac entered before Patrick could answer. "Well, isn't this cozy," Mac commented as he looked at Patrick and Lisa with disdain. Mac suggested that Lisa's presence in the interrogation room was a good motive to get rid of Robin. Things quickly became heated between Patrick and Mac as they argued about Robin.

Lisa insisted that Patrick wasn't responsible for Robin's disappearance. According to Lisa, Robin had run away before, so it was obvious that Robin had left because of her failing marriage and problems at work. Mac threatened to arrest Lisa, which didn't sit well with her. "It didn't have to come to this," Lisa told Mac. Mac wondered if she were trying to threaten him. Lisa denied it, but she argued that the fact that he would "go there" proved that Mac was out of control.

After Lisa left, Patrick insisted that he'd never hurt Robin. Mac disagreed; Patrick had confirmed all of Robin's worst fears about marriage by cheating on her. Lisa returned moments later to inform Mac that she had contacted an attorney on Patrick's behalf. The attorney had assured Lisa that Patrick was free to go if he hadn't been charged with a crime. Mac was disgusted as he accused them of being quite a team.

Lisa ignored the insult as she let Patrick know that she would see him at the hospital. Lisa then turned to Mac to warn him that Robin needed psychiatric help. Patrick agreed. Mac argued that Robin had recovered from postpartum depression, but Lisa suggested, "Sometimes the craziest people don't realize how crazy they are."

Later, at the hospital, Patrick approached Lisa at the nurses' station to thank her for her support. Patrick excused himself when he spotted Steve. Patrick and Steve pretended to discuss the surgical rotation, but in reality Steve revealed that one of Lisa's patients had given Lisa permission to use his cabin.

Robin woke up to find that she was still stuck in the bottom of an empty well. She was relieved that she had made it through the night, but despair quickly set in when she realized that help had not arrived. Robin's spirits sagged further when the timer on her wristwatch beeped. Robin noted that she had missed a dose of her HIV medications. Robin promised Emma that she would get out somehow, even if it took a miracle. Later, Robin's watched beeped again to let her know that it was time to take another dose of medication.

10/1 At the nurses' station, Steven surreptitiously gave Patrick the address of Mr. Mulvaney's cabin, where he and Patrick suspected Lisa might have been keeping Robin. Lisa walked over and asked Patrick to leave with her. Patrick tried to convince her that, after having been in jail, he really wanted to get back to work. Lisa was insistent, but Steven assigned her to a surgery. After she left, Patrick worried that Lisa had figured out that he was searching for Robin. He asked Steven to keep Lisa at the hospital as long as he could. Later, Lisa asked Epiphany when Patrick would be out of surgery, and Epiphany replied that he'd already signed out for the day. Lisa called Mr. Mulvaney and confirmed that someone on staff had called him to ask about his cabin. She then left the hospital, even though she was supposed to begin surgery.

Steven called Patrick to warn him that Lisa had spoken to Mr. Mulvaney before she left GH. Patrick arrived at the cabin and searched for Robin, to no avail. Robin sat, unconscious, in the well. As he called to her, Robin regained consciousness. Patrick helped Robin out of the well. She recounted that she remembered being at Mac's, then coming to in the cabin with Lisa standing over her. Once Robin had recovered her strength, she'd made a run for it but had fallen into the well. As they began to head toward the car, Lisa arrived and she was holding a gun.

10/4 Patrick rescued Robin from the well, but Lisa found them in the woods and held them at gunpoint. She told Patrick how much she loved him and how she did not want to live without him. She threatened suicide. Patrick tried to talk her out of it, but Lisa became increasingly hysterical. When she put the gun to her head, Patrick lunged for the gun. Mac, who Patrick had contacted on the way to rescue Robin, arrived with help as the shot was fired. Patrick was able to deflect the gun, and the bullet missed its target. Patrick urged Mac to send Lisa to Shadybrook on suicide watch instead of to jail, which he did.

In the police car, awaiting transport, Lisa apologized for her actions. She asked Patrick if he hated her. He told her not as much as he hated himself. Lisa said that she never tried to hurt Emma and she never would because Emma was a part of Patrick. Patrick said that he believed her. Lisa wondered how she would ever live with herself. Patrick said that she had to let the doctors help her. Patrick did not answer when she asked if he would visit her there.

At General Hospital, Robin was recovering. Robin asked Maya about what had been said to staff. Maya said that rumor had it that Robin had been trapped in a well. Robin said that Lisa had drugged and kidnapped her. Robin said that when she escaped from Lisa, she fell in the well. Maya said she was surprised because Lisa seemed so normal. Robin said that until a few weeks before, no one had known how crazy Lisa was.

Patrick caught up with Robin in the hospital. She said that she had no serious damage and that she would be released on the following day. Patrick said that Emma was fine, that Mac was checking on her and would see Robin soon. Robin told Patrick about seeing Stone in the well. Patrick apologized for not being there. Robin told him not to feel bad because he had saved her life. She said that what Stone had done was make her realize how much she still loved Patrick, despite what they had been through.

Patrick apologized again and told Robin how much he regretted sleeping with Lisa and breaking his vows to Robin. He told he that he loved her and Emma more than anything. He said that Robin and Emma were his whole life and meant the world to him. Robin acknowledged that she believed that he loved her, but said that love had not been enough to keep him from cheating on her with Lisa, and she was not sure it was enough to make her want to stay in their marriage.

10/5 At the hospital, Patrick admitted that he had made mistakes, but he was desperate to save his marriage. He begged Robin not to make any rash decisions. Robin's eyes filled with tears as she assured him that she had thought about it while she had been in the well. Robin had known when she had met Patrick that he had been a womanizer, so it had been unrealistic for her to expect Patrick to change. Patrick admitted that sleeping with Lisa had been indefensible, but he insisted that it had been a one-time thing. Robin knew that Patrick hadn't meant to hurt her, but he hadn't resisted temptation.

Patrick argued that he loved Robin too much to ever betray her like that again. Robin didn't think that it was enough. She suggested that sometimes people were too different. Robin wanted fidelity, consistency, and commitment in her marriage; she didn't think that Patrick was capable of giving her those things. Robin doubted that Patrick could ever be faithful to someone, no matter how hard he tried. Patrick didn't think that giving up on their marriage was fair to anyone, especially Emma. Robin pointed out that plenty of children grew up with divorced parents. She refused to put Emma through needless heartache because her parents didn't make each other happy. Patrick claimed that Robin made him happy, but Robin insisted that she would never be able to trust him.

Patrick was crushed when Robin confessed that she couldn't get past his infidelity. Patrick offered to go to therapy to help him understand why he had cheated. He was determined to do whatever it took to make things work with Robin because he loved her. Robin hated how she had yelled at Patrick in front of their coworkers because of Lisa; she didn't want to be that person again, even if it was justified. Robin was certain that she would be setting them both up for disappointment by expecting Patrick to remain faithful to her.

Patrick continued to plead with Robin to work on their marriage, to no avail. Patrick suggested that Robin was taking the safe way out instead of honoring the commitment that she had made to him. Robin quickly reminded Patrick that he had been the one to forsake their vows, not her. Patrick conceded her point, but he thought that they should make every effort to save their marriage. Robin grew weary of talking in circles.

Robin conceded that she loved him, but she needed time to let everything settle. She decided to stay with Mac, but Patrick didn't think that it was necessary. He offered to get a hotel room, so that Robin and Emma could have the house. Robin didn't want to return to the place where they had been a family, so she preferred to stay with Mac. Patrick accepted Robin's decision, but he reminded her that he didn't want a divorce. "Duly noted," Robin tearfully replied as Patrick rose to leave.

A short time later, Mac stopped by to check on his niece. Mac made it clear that he wasn't happy with Patrick, but he conceded that Patrick's idea, to let Lisa believe that she was no longer a suspect in Robin's disappearance, had worked. Mac let Robin know that Patrick had refused to let anything stop him from finding Robin. Robin didn't doubt that Patrick loved her, but she didn't think that she could ever forgive him for the betrayal. Mac assured Robin that she had his complete support if she wanted a divorce.

Matt spotted Patrick at the nurses' station. He noticed that Patrick looked ragged, so he hoped that Patrick didn't intend to work. Patrick explained that he was at the hospital to see Robin and that Robin had decided to file for a divorce.

10/6 In Robin's hospital room, Mac recalled how his marriage to Felicia had fallen apart. He admitted that he had loved Felicia, but it hadn't been enough to save their marriage. Robin thought that her situation with Patrick was different because she had abandoned Patrick when she had gone to Africa. Mac refused to let Robin blame herself for her failed marriage. Robin argued that she had to accept her role in what had happened. Mac didn't want Robin to justify Patrick's cheating. Robin assured her uncle that she wasn't, but she suspected that perhaps it was too soon to call a divorce lawyer.

At the nurses' station, Patrick told Matt about Robin's decision to file for a divorce. Patrick conceded that he had no one to blame but himself. Matt thought that it was great that Patrick owned up to his role in what had happened. Patrick was desperate to win back Robin's trust, so he was willing to go to marriage counseling if it would help. Matt thought that Patrick should carefully consider what he wanted before making a decision about his marriage. Patrick wished that he could turn time back, so that Robin wouldn't have been hurt and he wouldn't have lost his family. Matt advised Patrick to give Robin some space. Matt suggested that therapy might help, but the only way for Patrick to understand why he had cheated was to figure out what he truly wanted.

Later, Mac spotted Patrick. Mac informed Patrick that Robin was contemplating a divorce. Patrick admitted that he intended to try to change Robin's mind. Mac wasn't surprised by the news; he knew that Patrick loved Robin. Mac conceded that, despite all the pain that Patrick had caused, there were things about Patrick that Mac respected. Mac urged Patrick to accept responsibility for the infidelity. Mac suggested that Patrick not drag things out by trying to go to counseling. Mac wanted Patrick to "man up" by making a clean, quick break of things. He believed that Patrick owed it to Robin.

Later, Patrick went to Robin's hospital room, but he didn't enter when he saw that she was resting.

10/7 At the hospital, Robin was on the phone with Mac as she packed the last of her belongings. Robin assured Mac that she had been cleared to go home, so she would be there soon. After Robin ended the call, Brenda popped her head into Robin's hospital room. Robin was delighted to see Brenda. Max and Milo waited in the hallway while the two friends reunited. Brenda explained that Jason had arranged for them to guard her, but she didn't want to talk about that; she wanted to know what was going on with Robin.

Robin told Brenda about the fall down the well, Lisa's obsession with Patrick, Patrick's one-night stand with Lisa, and Lisa's suicide attempt. Brenda wondered where Lisa was. Robin explained that Lisa had been taken to Shadybrook for an evaluation. Robin hoped that Lisa would be transferred to a prison for the criminally insane. Robin then admitted that she had seen Stone while she had been in the well. Robin acknowledged that Stone hadn't been real, but it had been wonderful to see him nonetheless.

Brenda understood; she knew that there wasn't anything like a person's first love. Robin and Brenda talked about what had led to Patrick's infidelity. Robin admitted that she had shut Patrick out before she had gone to Africa. Brenda didn't think that it was an excuse for Patrick to sleep with another woman. However, Robin assured Brenda that Patrick was a wonderful father.

Robin wanted to change the subject, so Brenda offered to talk about herself. Brenda revealed how she had ended up in Port Charles. Brenda hoped that Jason would catch the Balkan soon, so that she could return to Rome. Brenda admitted that Jason was the best bodyguard, but she didn't want Robin to tell him. Robin assured Brenda that she never got involved in one of Jason's relationships. Brenda burst out laughing as she explained that she and Jason didn't have a relationship. According to Brenda, a person couldn't have one with someone who never listened and always ordered people around.

Robin wondered if Brenda had gotten a chance to see Sonny. Brenda told Robin about her encounter with Sonny in Rome and then admitted that she had gone to Greystone Manor to tell Sonny that she wouldn't be able to see him while she was in Port Charles. Brenda revealed that Sonny wanted to try to make their relationship work, but Brenda didn't think that it was a good idea. Robin didn't understand why, but Brenda confided that she had shed countless tears over Sonny through the years. Robin suggested that perhaps Sonny had been too much for Brenda in the past, but the timing might finally be right for them.

After Robin left the hospital, she stopped by Pozzulo's to talk to Sonny. Sonny wondered if Robin had second thoughts about Sonny and Brenda reconnecting. Robin revealed that it was just the opposite; she urged Sonny to "go for it." Robin was certain that Sonny and Brenda would be happy together. Sonny argued that he and Brenda had destroyed each other, so it might not be a good idea. Robin pointed out that things were different; Sonny had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and Brenda had grown up. Robin was confident that Brenda was a stronger person than she had been in the past. Sonny agreed, but he suggested that it was because he wasn't in Brenda's life. Robin thought that Sonny and Brenda had a chance to make things work, but she warned Sonny not to assume that they would have another chance.

10/8 Robin visited Sonny at his office. She urged him to pursue Brenda, but Sonny was resistant. He told Robin that he wanted Brenda to be happy, and letting Brenda build a life with Murphy would do that. Robin said that Brenda and Sonny's love could have been the greatest ever. Sonny wondered if it would work since they'd both matured--if they were each brave enough to give it another try.

10/11 Robin went to see Jax. She told him about Lisa, and her problems with Patrick. Jax said that he was an expert on shaky marriages and he would be happy to act as a sounding board. When the talk turned to Brenda, Robin said that Brenda always turned to Jax when she was struggling with feelings for Sonny. Jax did not like hearing that, and he was even more upset to find out that Robin was responsible for getting Brenda and Sonny in touch with each other again. Jax wanted to know why Robin was encouraging a relationship between Sonny and Brenda. Robin said it was because they deserved to find out if they could have a life together. Jax said that Brenda deserved better than Sonny. He said that he loved Carly, but would not sit back and do nothing while Sonny hurt Brenda.

10/12 In Jax's office, Robin suggested that Brenda should follow her heart. Jax was certain that Sonny would destroy the life that Brenda had built. Jax admitted that he didn't trust Sonny not to take advantage of Brenda. Robin gently pointed out that Jax was married, so it wasn't his call to make. Jax argued that he could be happily married to Carly and still be concerned about Brenda.

Robin suspected that Jax was more concerned about stopping Sonny than saving Brenda. Jax denied that he wanted revenge against Sonny. He insisted that he was simply trying to look out for Brenda. Robin explained that Brenda was a grown woman who had made a life for herself. She was certain that Brenda had things figured out. Jax was adamant that Brenda would be a moving target if she were with Sonny. Robin pointed out that Brenda was already surrounded by danger; however, her point was that Jax's interference might pose some unexpected problems.

Robin suggested that Brenda might see Jax as an attractive alternative to Sonny. She was curious if Jax were ready for that. Robin reminded him that he had wrecked one marriage for Brenda, so she wondered if he were prepared to sacrifice a second marriage. Jax was confident that he could be friends with Brenda. Robin was curious if Jax had considered how Carly might feel about his desire to protect Brenda from Sonny. Robin insisted that Brenda and Sonny had something special, so Jax should stay out of it.

On the tenth floor of General Hospital, Patrick and Steve discussed Patrick's affair with Lisa. Patrick felt guilty because he had wrecked so many lives. Steve assured Patrick that Lisa was getting the help that she needed. Epiphany walked up to inform Patrick that she wasn't his personal assistant and then handed him a message from a jewelry store that had called about an item that Patrick had ordered. Patrick realized that it was a necklace that he had ordered for Robin's birthday.

Patrick didn't know if he should give the gift to Robin or not. Steve suggested that Patrick give Robin some space. Later, Patrick tried to get Epiphany's input, but she made it clear that she didn't want to get involved. After Patrick's shift ended, he let Steve know that he had decided to ignore Steve's advice. Patrick didn't want Robin to think that he had forgotten her birthday. Patrick felt in his heart that giving her the gift was the right thing to do. Patrick conceded that he might not have been ready for marriage at one time, but he liked who he was when he was with Robin, so he wanted that life back.

Robin arrived home to find Mac, Maxie, and Emma waiting to surprise her with balloons, presents, and a birthday cake. Robin smiled as her family gathered around her to celebrate her birthday. Mac explained that Nikolas had sent the flowers and that Anna had promised to call Robin later that evening.

After they indulged in cake, Maxie offered to give Emma a bath when she noticed that the little girl was covered in icing. Robin declined because she enjoyed bathing her daughter; she also thought that it was important for Emma to have consistency. Maxie explained that she had to get back to work and then left. Mac followed Maxie out the door because he had some budget issues to review at the police station.

Once they were alone, Robin confessed to her daughter that she wished that Patrick had been there. After Robin bathed Emma and then put her daughter to bed, she returned to the living room to gather her birthday presents. Moments later, someone knocked on the door. It was Patrick.

Robin smiled as Patrick wished her a happy birthday. Robin invited Patrick in to check on Emma, but Patrick insisted that he wanted to see Robin. He pulled out the present and then gave her the box. Patrick explained that he had ordered it months before. He didn't want to overstep her boundaries, but he had decided to follow his heart, which told him to give Robin the present. Robin was touched when she opened the box.

Patrick had ordered a replica of a necklace that Robin had seen on a medicine woman whom she had met. Patrick admitted that he had ordered the gift after they had returned to their hotel room and Robin had gone swimming. Robin appreciated the special gift, but she didn't think she was ready to wear it. Patrick understood; he just wanted her to know that he had been thinking of her. Moments later, Patrick left.

10/13 At Mac's house, Maxie dropped by to see how Robin was doing. Robin admitted that she and Emma were settling into a new routine, so they were doing well. Robin thanked Maxie for the surprise birthday party the previous day. Maxie assured her cousin that she didn't mind; Robin deserved it because she was always there to help Maxie. Robin sensed that Maxie needed a favor. Maxie wanted Robin to get Brenda to leave town and to enlist Jason's help if necessary. Maxie began to complain about Spinelli's infatuation with Brenda, but Robin suggested that perhaps Maxie was jealous and a little mad that Spinelli had moved on.

At the hospital, Patrick explained that he needed a consult with Robin, so he asked Maya to drop off a file for Robin to review. Epiphany was annoyed that Patrick had made a mess of his life and then expected them to clean it up. Patrick realized that Epiphany had more to say. Epiphany admitted that she was frustrated because Lisa had been sent to the "loony bin" while Robin had been suspended, all because Patrick couldn't keep his pants zipped. After Epiphany walked away, Maya admitted that she felt sorry for Robin because Robin had married a player, and players didn't change.

Robin was surprised when Maya turned up on her doorstep. Maya explained that she had been on her way home, so she had stopped by to drop off a patient file that Patrick wanted Robin to review. Robin invited Maya in. As the two ladies sat down in the living room, Robin asked how things were going at work. Robin worried that everyone was talking about how the workaholic doctor couldn't keep her husband. Maya confessed that most of the gossip had been about Patrick and that Epiphany had laid into Patrick earlier that day. Maya insisted that everyone was sympathetic to Robin. Robin hoped that Epiphany eased up on Patrick because Robin had been partly to blame for the breakdown of her marriage.

Robin acknowledged that she had known what Patrick was like when she had married him and that she had unwisely thought that she could change him. Maya insisted that Robin wasn't to blame for Patrick's infidelity. Maya confided that she had been involved with someone who had been a lot like Patrick and that she had learned the hard way that people like Patrick couldn't change. After Maya left, Robin decided to pack up Emma and then head to the hospital.

Steve and Patrick approached the nurses' station a few minutes later. Steve was delighted to see his sister. After Steve hugged his sister, Patrick took a turn welcoming Elizabeth back to work with a hug. The smiles disappeared when Elizabeth asked where Robin was. Elizabeth immediately realized that something had happened. Elizabeth was stunned when Patrick explained that Robin had taken a break from work and their marriage.

Patrick quickly filled Elizabeth in on what had happened since she had left town. Patrick was surprised that Elizabeth didn't seem to judge him. Elizabeth reminded Patrick that she had been in a similar situation, so she knew how it felt. Elizabeth spotted Robin as Robin exited the elevator. Elizabeth decided to give Robin and Patrick some privacy, so she walked away. Robin explained that she had a few suggestions after reviewing the patient's chart. As they discussed the case, Matt walked up to the nurses' station. He stopped short when he saw Robin and Patrick together. Robin noticed that everyone was staring, so she decided to make an announcement.

10/14 At the hospital, Robin acknowledged to her co-workers that Patrick had cheated on her while she had been returning from Africa. She admitted that Lisa had been a "whack job" who had kidnapped her. Robin then explained that even though Patrick had rescued her, their marriage was over. Epiphany asked Robin and Patrick not to drag their coworkers through the end of their marriage because they were all too busy.

After everyone returned to work, Steve pulled Elizabeth aside to get her opinion of what had happened. Steve explained to his sister that there hadn't been any proof that Lisa had drugged Robin or even kidnapped her. The only thing that they knew for certain was that Lisa and Robin had been at the cabin together, which wasn't a crime. Elizabeth admitted that Robin wasn't perfect, but she insisted that her friend was a good person. Elizabeth didn't think that Robin would lie about someone, even if she hated that person.

Steve approached Robin to let her know that her suspension had been lifted when Lisa had suffered a breakdown. Steve offered to let Robin take a leave of absence, if she needed it. Robin assured Steve that she wouldn't have returned to work if she hadn't been ready. After Steve walked away, Patrick approached Robin to find out if Robin had a recommendation for a patient. Robin explained that she had left her notes with the patient's file. She wondered if Patrick were using the case as an excuse to talk to her.

Robin made it clear that she would prefer to have as little contact as possible with Patrick. Patrick was curious why she was at the hospital if she wanted distance between them. Robin explained that she had been ready to return to work. Moments later, heads turned when Lisa stepped off of the elevator. "Hello everyone," Lisa greeted her co-workers with a smile. "Um, did anyone miss me?" she asked.

10/15 To the shock of General Hospital staff, Lisa returned to work. She was not welcomed by Robin, who verbally attacked her. Steven confirmed that Lisa had been released from Shadybrook. Robin threatened to have Lisa arrested, but Maxie stopped Robin.

Steven told Patrick that it was inevitable Lisa would return and that he wasn't sure if anything could be done to prevent her from resuming her duties. Lisa continued to insist that Robin was mentally unstable. Epiphany made it clear that, regardless of who was crazy, she would not allow it to affect patient care.

Matt told Lisa that she did not have the benefit of his doubt. Elizabeth stated that she would mind her business if Lisa did the same. Steven asked Lisa if she'd consider transferring to Mercy Hospital but was met with a firm "no." Elizabeth advised Patrick not to let his guilt keep him from seeing the threat Lisa was. Maxie privately told Robin that Robin needed to play it cool. "Leave the ranting to me," Maxie offered.

Later, Maya wondered why Lisa's Shadybrook records were in the nurses' station. Robin angrily explained that Lisa had been released and would be returning to work the following day. Maya asked why Lisa hadn't been arrested, and Robin told her that there was no evidence that Lisa had committed any crimes against Robin. Robin pondered taking a leave of absence in the hopes that Lisa would trip herself up.

10/18 In the locker room, Lisa was wearing only her bra and panties when she engaged Patrick in conversation. Patrick told her that he was immune to her sexy behavior, but Lisa pretended that she had merely taken a shower, and was not trying to entice him. Lisa told Patrick that she was grateful for his help when she had tried to commit suicide. She said that she had never tried to kill Robin and that Robin was the crazy one.Patrick scoffed at Lisa's claims, but Lisa remained unruffled. She dressed, then told Patrick to try therapy because it really did help. After she left the room, Robin watched outside the door as a frustrated Patrick leaned against one of the lockers. Robin went inside and told Patrick not to let Lisa get under his skin and ruin his career.

Patrick was gone and Robin was in the locker room alone when Lisa entered. She taunted Robin and calmly denied any intent to harm Robin or Emma. Lisa accused Robin of being jealous because Lisa had a relationship with Patrick. Robin slapped Lisa, who got a smug smile on her face as she said to Robin, "And I'm the one out of control."

Robin was still in the locker room when Patrick found her. She told him what she had done and said that she was an idiot for letting Lisa get to her. She worried that her behavior made her look crazy and that Steve would not believe her. She also worried that Lisa would file a grievance against her.

At the nurses' station, Steve wanted an opinion from Epiphany about both Robin and Lisa. Epiphany tried to remain noncommittal, but Steve insisted. Epiphany said that they were both good doctors and that the patients were not suffering, but she also said that love could make people do foolish things. Lisa emerged from a hallway and told Steve that she needed to talk to him.

10/19 At the hospital, Patrick and Robin discussed the confrontation between Robin and Lisa in the locker room. Patrick urged Robin to talk to Steve before Lisa had an opportunity to put a spin on things. As if on cue, Steve approached Robin and Patrick to ask to have a private word with Robin. Robin assumed that Steve intended to suspend her again. Steve had no idea why Robin would jump to such a conclusion; he had just wanted to let her to know that he had decided to go with a different course of treatment for a patient than the one that Robin had recommended.

Lisa pretended to be working at the nurses' station while she tried to eavesdrop on Steve, Robin, and Patrick's conversation. Robin apologized to Steve for overreacting. Steve seemed genuinely concerned about Robin, so he offered to give Robin some time off if she needed it. Robin thanked Steve, but assured him that it wasn't necessary. After Steve walked away, Robin confided to Patrick that Lisa was better than she had thought.

Robin was certain that Lisa hadn't told Steve about the slap, in order to set Robin up to make it appear that Robin was defensive and paranoid. Lisa walked up moments later to ask if Patrick would consult on a case. Robin was stunned by Lisa's gall. Patrick made it clear that he didn't want to work with Lisa, so he suggested that she consult one of the other neurosurgeons on staff. After Lisa walked away, Robin confessed that Lisa was like nails on a chalkboard. Patrick urged Robin not to let Lisa get to her, so he suggested that Robin consider taking Steve up on his offer for a short leave of absence.

Robin angrily accused Patrick of trying to manipulate her into leaving the hospital, so that he could spend some time alone with Lisa. Patrick clarified that he didn't want Lisa provoking Robin into doing something that Robin would regret. Patrick insisted that Robin played into Lisa's hand every time that Robin got angry. Robin snapped back that Patrick had been the one who had given Lisa what she wanted when he had slept with Lisa. The argument was cut short when Brenda called Robin to invite Robin to the penthouse.

Lisa and Steve were reviewing a patient’s file when Lisa announced her decision to operate on the patient the following week. Steve was impressed that Lisa was ready to hit the ground running. Lisa appreciated Steve's support. Steve admitted that the evaluation from Shadybrook had assured him that she was ready to resume work. However, Steve wanted Lisa to talk to him if she felt overwhelmed. Lisa promised that she would and then walked away.

Patrick approached Steve seconds later. Patrick couldn't believe that Lisa had been released from the sanitarium. Steve assured Patrick that Lisa had a glowing report from her doctors. Patrick wasn't impressed; he pointed out that Lisa was a doctor, so she knew what to say. Patrick insisted that Lisa had done some crazy things, but Steve argued that there hadn't been any evidence to prove that Lisa had been guilty of any wrongdoing.

Patrick was livid when Steve suggested that perhaps Patrick's certainty in Robin stemmed from Patrick's desire to save his marriage. Patrick insisted that Steve was way off-base and then started to walk away. However, Patrick stopped when Steve called out to him. Steve reminded Patrick that Lisa was a respected doctor, so Steve had to treat her fairly until he had proof that she was unstable. Patrick refused to work with Lisa. Steve pointed out that it wasn't Patrick's call to make; Patrick would work with Lisa if Steve ordered it or else Patrick would have to resign.

Patrick went to Metro Court when he left the hospital. After Patrick picked up his messages at the front desk, he headed to his room. Moments later, Lisa approached the front desk to rent a room for a week. She cleverly persuaded the clerk to give her a room on the same floor that Patrick had a room.

Robin stopped by to see Sonny. Sonny was delighted to see Robin, but she warned him, "Don't speak too soon." After a warm hug, Robin explained that she had talked to Brenda. Robin revealed that Brenda was upset because of the situation with Sonny. Robin regretted that she had encouraged Sonny and Brenda to see each other because she hadn't realized how devastating it would be on Brenda. Sonny wondered how he could fix things. Robin suggested that Sonny leave Brenda alone. Robin knew that the love was there for Sonny and Brenda, but Brenda wanted to be left alone. Sonny was reluctant to hurt Brenda again.

10/20 At the hospital, Lisa overheard Steve and Robin discuss the drug protocol for one of Robin's patients. Lisa offered to operate on the patient, but Robin ordered Lisa to stay away from Robin's patients. Lisa calmly reminded Robin that they were colleagues. Robin didn't care; she refused to put her patients at risk because Lisa could convincingly act stable. "Okay, that's your choice, and I respect that," Lisa quietly responded and then walked away.

Steve suggested that Robin could have handled the situation better. Robin disagreed because Lisa was insane. Steve pointed out that Robin wasn't qualified to make that kind of assessment. He warned Robin that there would be a day when she would be expected to work with Lisa. Epiphany had overheard the exchange between Robin and Lisa. After Steve left, Epiphany insisted that every time Robin went off on Lisa, the "crazy stick" pointed to Robin, not Lisa.

Patrick stood at the nurses' station. It was clear that he had also overheard Robin's heated exchange with Lisa. Later, Patrick advised Robin to be a little more professional when she was around Lisa. Robin was outraged. Patrick explained that he was trying to help, but Robin angrily accused him of sticking up for his "girlfriend" and then stormed away.

Steve broke the news to Patrick that his friend's biotechnology company had failed, so he and Elizabeth and Patrick had all lost the money that they had invested. Steve revealed that the medication had not received FDA approval as they had anticipated, so it could be years before the medication hit the market. Patrick took the news well, since he had only invested what he could afford to lose. Steve felt terrible, especially for Elizabeth, because she'd had dreams of college trust funds and family vacations. Patrick wondered if things were that bad for Elizabeth. Steve claimed that Elizabeth had assured him that she would be able to make things work. Steve didn't doubt his sister, since she had been through so much lately.

The conversation then turned to Steve's concern about Robin's job performance. Patrick insisted that Robin had good reason to be upset because Lisa had terrorized her. Steve reminded Patrick that Robin had been behaving volatile lately, not Lisa. Steve wanted to believe Patrick and Robin, but there hadn't been any proof of wrongdoing on Lisa's part. Meanwhile, Robin checked in with one of her patients. Robin was surprised that her patient had been prescribed a new medication that Robin hadn't approved.

At the nurses' station, Patrick asked Epiphany to schedule a surgery for one of his patients. Epiphany wondered if Dr. Niles or Dr. Trydal would be assisting. Patrick couldn't believe that Epiphany had asked him that question. Epiphany explained that they weren't in grade school. Before she could finish the thought, Patrick answered, "Dr. Trydal."

As they stepped off of the elevator, Steve apologized for persuading Lisa to invest in the biotech company. Lisa reminded Steve that he had warned her that there hadn't been any guarantees, so she didn't hold it against him. She then joked that she'd had her breakdown for the year. Lisa was startled when Robin marched up and then warned Lisa not to sabotage the care of Robin's patients just to get back at Robin.

10/21 At the hospital, Robin accused Lisa of changing the drug protocol for one of Robin's patients without Robin's permission. Robin insisted on filing a complaint against Lisa. Steve clarified that he had sent Robin an email to let her know that Dr. Trydal would oversee the patient's pre-surgery care, so Dr. Trydal had made the change.

Robin argued that it had not been noted on the chart, but Steve flipped to the first page to show Robin that it had indeed been noted. Lisa suggested that it had been an innocent mistake because Robin was under tremendous stress, but Robin didn't appreciate Lisa's input. After Robin called Lisa a miserable liar, Patrick tried to step in to calm Robin down. His plan backfired as Robin accused him of patronizing her.

After Robin stormed off, she ended up on the pier, where she met up with Maxie. Robin explained that she needed her cousin to talk her down. Maxie gave Robin a pep talk and then the cousins reminisced about the times that they had gone to Kelly's for ice cream and then strolled along the pier, making up stories about the various boats that they saw.

Maxie recalled that Robin had always had the best stories because they had been about everlasting love. Robin confessed that she had realized that love was fragile and easily destroyed by many things, including marriage. Robin couldn't believe that Patrick had cheated on her with Lisa.

Patrick walked up as Robin admitted that she didn't feel like Patrick supported her. Maxie insisted that Patrick loved Robin, so she was certain that Robin would feel better if she forgave Patrick. "And then what?" Robin wondered; she didn't know how she could ever be sure that Patrick wouldn't cheat again. "I'm sure," Patrick confessed as he made his presence known. Maxie quickly excused herself as Patrick suggested that he and Robin needed to figure out a way to deal with Lisa. Robin didn't think that Lisa was the problem; they were.

Patrick wanted to work on their marriage, but Robin didn't see the point. She compared them to a broken vase that had been glued back together, but still had cracks. Robin insisted that they would never be the same. Patrick hoped that they could be better, but Robin didn't see how that was possible. She wasn't interested in exploring the reasons why he had cheated on her. Robin realized that their marriage had been a bad idea, but she believed that they could still be good parents to Emma. Patrick wasn't ready to get a divorce, but Robin remained resolute. She conceded that she had thought that she could change him, but she had learned her lesson.

At the hospital, Steve and Lisa discussed the first surgery that Lisa had performed since being released from Shadybrook. Lisa admitted that Shadybrook had been a humbling experience, but it had felt good to be in the operating room again. Lisa then thanked Steve for helping her out with Robin. Steve reminded Lisa that they all needed to get past what had happened. Lisa agreed; she wished that she could rewind the clock, so that she wouldn't have slept with Patrick or pursued a relationship with him. Steve acknowledged that they had all learned a hard lesson about keeping their personal lives separate from their work lives. Lisa claimed that she wished that she hadn't hurt so many people.

10/28 At the hospital, Steve let Patrick know that he expected Patrick to attend a board meeting on November third. Patrick explained that he had requested the day off months earlier to celebrate Emma's birthday. At the nurses' station, Robin turned to Elizabeth for advice about Emma's birthday party. Robin was considering hiring a clown and arranging pony rides for the children. However, Robin feared that she might be going overboard.

Elizabeth reminded Robin that the day should be about Emma. Robin confessed that she thought that the pony rides would be a good distraction from the tension between Robin and Patrick. Elizabeth wondered if Patrick were attending the party. Robin admitted that she hadn't discussed it with him. Elizabeth revealed that Cam had gone to a party with a clown, which had been a complete disaster because a little girl had been terrified of the clown. Elizabeth explained that children just wanted to eat cake, so Robin would be better off just buying another cake instead of arranging for pony rides and clowns.

Moment later, Lisa walked up to ask Elizabeth for a patient's chart. Robin made a point of ignoring Lisa. After Elizabeth walked away, Patrick and Steve approached the nurses' station as they discussed a patient who needed surgery. Lisa quickly volunteered to scrub in with Patrick. Patrick refused to work with Lisa, but Steve reminded Patrick that emergency surgery trumped any issues that Patrick had with Lisa. Robin seethed with silent fury as she watched Lisa and Patrick walk away.

Robin confessed that Lisa drove her crazy. Sonny wondered if Robin wanted him to "intervene." Robin thought about it for a long moment, but then declined Sonny's offer. Robin realized that the real problem was Patrick. She admitted that she missed him and the life that they had shared. Robin couldn't help but wonder if all of it had been a lie. Sonny was curious if anything in the marriage had been worth saving. "Yes," Robin admitted, but she didn't know how to forgive Patrick.

Sonny opened up about how Lily had forgiven him, even though he had planned to leave his wife. Sonny confided that it had felt wonderful when Lily forgave him. Sonny suggested that Robin should forgive Patrick, even if she didn't take him back. He warned her that if she held onto the anger and resentment, she might be blind to a love that could be right in front of her. Robin returned to the hospital a short time later to let Epiphany know that she had taken Emma's birthday off to throw her daughter a party. Robin's good mood soured when she heard Steve ask Patrick how the surgery had gone. Patrick admitted that Lisa had done a good job.

Later, Elizabeth let Robin know that Cam and Jake would be at Emma's party. Robin assured Elizabeth that Aiden was welcome if Audrey couldn't watch the infant. Elizabeth was curious if Patrick would be there. Robin confessed that she hadn't talked to Patrick about it, but she was certain that he'd probably show up. Elizabeth wondered if Robin was okay with that. Robin insisted that she would have to "suck it up" because Patrick was Emma's father. Neither Robin nor Elizabeth realized that Patrick had overheard their exchange.

10/29 Elizabeth and Robin entered the nurses' station while they discussed Halloween. Patrick approached, and Elizabeth left to work. With trepidation, Robin asked Patrick if he'd like to join her and Emma for trick-or-treating. He begged out because of a patient whom he needed to monitor. After Robin left, Elizabeth asked Patrick why he had declined to take his daughter out. Elizabeth pointed out that his patient was doing fine. Patrick explained that he was bowing out because of the discomfort that he and Robin felt when together.

Later, Robin, dressed as a witch, returned to the hospital so that Patrick could see their little girl, all dressed up like a lamb. Robin then took Emma to Kelly's and ordered something to go. She chatted with Johnny and Ethan, and asked how Luke was doing. Ethan assured her that Luke would not be down for long. She promised to check on Luke the next day. The moment Robin turned her back to grab her order, someone spirited Emma away.

11/1 At Kelly's, someone whisked Emma's stroller away while Robin had turned her back on her daughter to fetch a cup of coffee. Robin was horrified when she realized that Emma was missing. Johnny, Ethan, and Michael jumped up to help Robin find her daughter. Moments later, Abby walked up to Kelly's with Emma safe and sound in the stroller. Robin demanded to know what Abby had been doing with Emma. Abby explained that she had seen someone, dressed in a witch costume like Robin's, leave the stroller at a nearby building and then walk toward Kelly's.

Robin made it clear that it wasn't her, but Johnny admitted that he had seen Robin in Kelly's without Emma. Robin assured Johnny that Emma had been within eyesight the whole time. Johnny wondered how Emma could have disappeared if that had been true. Robin conceded that she had turned her back on Emma for just a second; however, Robin insisted that the door to Kelly's had been open. Robin continued to question Abby. Once Abby told her everything that she had seen, Robin realized what had happened. Robin thanked Abby for returning Emma to her and then left. Everyone else entered Kelly's.

At the hospital, Epiphany told Patrick to stop moping around; he had made the choice not to go trick-or-treating with Emma. Patrick explained that he had wanted to give Robin some space. Moments later, Elizabeth and Nikolas arrived with the boys: Spencer wore a vampire costume, Cameron was dressed as a dwarf, and Jake was garbed as a dinosaur. Elizabeth explained that they had been at a Halloween party in the hospital's daycare center. They had stopped off to see Epiphany because the children adored her. Patrick handed each of the boys a piece of candy before they spotted Epiphany.

Elizabeth and the boys walked over to Epiphany while Nikolas lagged behind with Aiden, who slept in the baby carriage. Nikolas was curious why Patrick wasn't out trick-or-treating with Emma. Patrick admitted that quite a bit had changed since he and Nikolas had talked in the park.

Nearby, Lisa rounded the corner just as she finished pulling on her white lab coat. Later, after Elizabeth and Nikolas left with the boys, Epiphany suggested that Patrick go home because it had been a quiet night in the emergency room. Patrick confessed that he would rather continue working, so Epiphany gave him some things to do. After Epiphany walked away, Robin arrived to talk to Patrick. Robin was upset as she told Patrick about the incident at Kelly's. She was certain that Lisa had been behind the disturbing prank. Robin was outraged when Patrick questioned if she had any proof of Lisa's guilt. He quickly assured Robin that he was just trying to get to the bottom of things, but Robin didn't believe him.

Robin suggested that Patrick did not care that Lisa had once again targeted Emma. Patrick resented Robin's implication that he didn't care about his daughter as much as she did. Robin didn't apologize; she didn't think that Patrick would continue to work with "that psychopath" if Emma were important to him. Robin was furious that Patrick didn't believe her. She angrily accused Patrick of not doing anything to protect his daughter from the person who had tried to hurt her before.

Robin stormed off, but Patrick followed her to the elevator. He demanded to know what she expected him to do. Robin ignored the question as she made it clear that she would not stand by while Lisa continued to target Emma. Later, Lisa showed up at Kelly's to order a cup of coffee. Elizabeth and Nikolas were in the diner with the boys. As Lisa waited for her coffee, Johnny and Ethan told Lisa and Elizabeth about Robin's scare with Emma.

Lisa returned to the hospital a short time later. Patrick tracked her down in the locker room to confront her about what had happened with Emma. Lisa had no idea what Patrick was talking about. She claimed that the only thing that she had been guilty of was having an affair with Patrick. Patrick accused Lisa of dressing like Robin and then snatching Emma, in the hopes of pushing Robin over the edge.

Lisa suggested that Robin's claims were absurd. Lisa admitted that she had suffered a nervous breakdown after falling in love with Patrick again, but she assured him that she was on the road to recovery. Lisa insisted that she was just trying to get back to her life, so she wanted Patrick and Robin to leave her out of their problems. She was tired of defending herself. Patrick admitted that perhaps he was overreacting to the situation. After Lisa walked away, Patrick spotted a witch's hat on the floor next to the trash can.

11/2 In the hospital's locker room, Patrick angrily confronted Lisa about the witch hat that he had found on the floor next to the trash can. Patrick warned Lisa that he would not stand by while she continued to endanger Emma. He warned Lisa that her actions were criminal and sick. Lisa denied that the hat was hers; she insisted that she hadn't done anything wrong. Patrick was surprised when a nurse entered the locker room and then revealed that she had been looking for the hat.

Lisa smiled with satisfaction when the nurse explained that the hat had been part of her costume for the party in the daycare center. After the nurse left, Patrick conceded that he had overreacted. Lisa seized the opportunity to plant seeds of doubt about Robin's sanity, but Patrick refused to allow Lisa to twist things around. Patrick acknowledged that Robin might be upset and under stress, but Robin was only reacting to the mess that Patrick and Lisa had created. After Patrick walked away, Lisa went to her locker.

Lisa opened her locker, where a witch costume had been hidden. Lisa carefully covered up the costume with one of her lab coats, closed the locker, and then walked away. Later, Matt was curious why Patrick was working when he should have been trick-or-treating with Emma. Patrick admitted that he had made an "ass" out of himself in the locker room. Patrick quickly filled Matt in about the confrontation with Lisa.

Patrick insisted that Lisa was not innocent because she had been going after Robin for some time. As a result, Robin had become her own worst enemy. Matt thought that they should focus on what they knew, which was that Robin was Patrick's wife and Patrick loved Robin. The discussion then shifted to the state of Patrick's marriage. Patrick explained that he wanted to give Robin some space because of a conversation that he had overheard between Robin and Elizabeth. Matt urged Patrick to show up for Emma's birthday party, so that he could continue to reassure Robin.

Later, Steve questioned why Patrick wasn't with Robin and Emma. Patrick admitted that he wished that he had gone trick-or-treating because of what had happened with Emma. Steve was stunned when Patrick told him about the scare at Kelly's when Emma had disappeared for a short time. Patrick explained that Robin had accused Lisa of pulling the prank, so he had confronted Lisa about it. Steve was curious why Patrick had believed Robin's version of events without any proof. Patrick insisted that Robin was his wife, and Lisa wasn't as innocent as she would have everyone believe. Patrick felt responsible for driving Lisa crazy and for hurting Robin.

Steve was concerned about how Patrick's personal life would impact Patrick's work. Patrick wondered if they would be having the conversation if Patrick's famous father hadn't crashed and burned. Steve clarified that Noah Drake was not on staff, so Noah was not Steve's problem; however, Patrick was another matter. Steve insisted that Patrick was a brilliant surgeon, but the garbage in his personal life would eventually catch up to him. Steve didn't think that it was any different if Patrick drank himself blind every night and then showed up for work the next day to cut someone's head open. Patrick wondered if Steve were suggesting that Patrick take a leave of absence or beg Robin to forgive him. Steve was curious if Patrick realized what wasn't being said; Patrick was furious with Robin.

Patrick denied it, but Steve didn't believe him. Steve pointed out that Robin wasn't fighting for her marriage or trying to forgive Patrick. According to Steve, Robin was doing nothing to help herself or Patrick. Steve didn't think that Robin was making any effort to preserve her family, which Steve found a bit troubling. Steve realized that it wasn't easy to forgive infidelity, but Robin seemed more invested in being the wounded party. Patrick defended Robin by revealing that Robin had suffered tremendous loss in her life. Patrick wasn't ready to give up on Robin, because Robin and Emma meant everything to him.

11/3 At the hospital, Lisa impressed Epiphany by turning in some paperwork early. Lisa grinned at Patrick, but he ignored her. Steve was surprised to see that Patrick was working on Emma's birthday. Patrick explained that he couldn't make it to the party, but Steve warned Patrick that it was a bad idea. Patrick argued that it was for the best. Nearby, Lisa paid close attention to their conversation.

Moments later, Patrick had a similar discussion with Matt when Patrick asked Matt to go to Emma's party in his place. Matt insisted that it was a mistake for Patrick not to go to Emma's party, but Patrick claimed that it was the best thing that he could do for his daughter. Patrick didn't want to turn the party into an emotional battleground. As the day continued, Epiphany made an attempt to persuade Patrick to change his mind about celebrating Emma's second birthday. Patrick explained that he was trying to be sensitive to Robin's feelings.

Steve overheard Patrick and Epiphany talking. After Epiphany walked away, Steve urged Patrick to reconsider. Patrick assured Steve that he would pick up a present for Emma and then drop by the house to wish his daughter a happy birthday. Lisa lurked nearby, eavesdropping. After Patrick walked away, Lisa left the nurses' station with a determined stride.

Later, Patrick prepared to leave for the day. He showed everyone the wrapped gift that he had bought for his daughter. However, Patrick's plans changed when Epiphany informed Steve and Patrick that a patient had been admitted to the Emergency Room with severe head trauma that required immediate surgery. Steve and Patrick raced to the operating room to scrub up for the surgery. Emma's present was left behind at the nurses' station.

At the Scorpio residence, Maxie and Robin decorated for Emma's party as Robin told her cousin about the incident at Kelly's when Emma had disappeared for a few minutes. Maxie realized that Lisa was stepping up her game. She wondered if Robin had told Patrick. Robin assured Maxie that she had, but Patrick had his doubts about Lisa's guilt. Robin admitted that it didn't help that she was still so angry and hurt over the betrayal. Robin didn't know how to forgive Patrick without making it appear that she condoned what he had done to her. Maxie thought that Robin needed more time. Robin agreed, but she was determined to be okay with Patrick attending the party.

Later, Maxie warned Mac to behave around Patrick for Emma's sake. Mac promised to do his best as the doorbell rang. It was Elizabeth, Cameron, and Jake. A short time later, Matt arrived for the party. Matt explained that Patrick wouldn't be able to make it to the party because he had been pulled into surgery. As everyone celebrated Emma's birthday, Maxie decided to light some candles for the kids to blow out. After the guests left, Mac revealed that he had to go to work, so he couldn't help Robin clean up. Robin assured Mac that it was fine.

After Mac left, Emma asked, "Where's Daddy?" Robin decided to distract her daughter by showing Emma all of the gifts that Emma had received. Afterwards, Robin carried Emma upstairs, unaware that one of the candles that Maxie had lit earlier had tipped over onto the discarded wrapping paper.

11/4 At the nurses' station, Patrick gave Epiphany some post-op instructions for a patient and then turned to call Robin before heading into surgery. However, Patrick was forced to drop the phone when Epiphany informed him that Steve needed Patrick in the operating room immediately. Moments later, Steve and Patrick scrubbed up before surgery. Patrick confessed that he hadn't given up on the idea of kissing his daughter goodnight on her birthday.

In the operating room, Steve admitted that he was impressed with Patrick's skill as a surgeon. As the operation progressed, Steve talked about his decision to become a doctor. According to Steve, he had been expected to follow in his father and grandfather's footsteps. Steve had rebelled for a short time; however, he had reached a turning point in his life when he happened upon an accident scene. Steve had realized that he could either call for help or become the doctor that he was meant to be. The conversation then drifted to Patrick's hopes for Emma. Patrick made it clear that he wanted Emma to pursue whatever made her happy.

At the nurses' station, Epiphany asked Elizabeth how Emma's party had gone. Elizabeth assured Epiphany that it had been a huge success and that the kids had enjoyed themselves. Lisa walked up moments later to ask to review a chart. As Lisa looked over the chart, she conversationally asked Elizabeth about Emma's party. Elizabeth let Lisa know that Patrick hadn't gone to the party. Lisa wondered what Elizabeth was implying. Elizabeth suspected that Lisa thought that Patrick's decision not to attend the party was because he was trying to distance himself from his family.

Elizabeth quickly clarified that Lisa couldn't be more wrong. Elizabeth assured Lisa that Patrick loved Robin more than ever. According to Elizabeth, Patrick didn't go the party because he had wanted Robin to enjoy the celebration without the strain that Robin felt when he was around. Lisa smiled sweetly as she confessed that Robin was a lucky lady. Elizabeth decided to make her position clear, so that there wasn't any misunderstanding between herself and Lisa. Elizabeth acknowledged that she wasn't a saint, so she wouldn't judge Lisa for having an affair with a married man; however, Elizabeth insisted that she was "irrevocably" Robin's friend. Elizabeth knew exactly what Lisa was doing to Robin. Lisa admitted that the accusations were getting tiresome. Elizabeth suggested that Lisa was very efficiently undermining Robin.

Elizabeth snarks that Lisa was parading her professionalism around the hospital and playing the victim even though she knew that her very presence pushed Robin's buttons. Lisa found it laughable that she was responsible for Robin's inability to control her temper. Elizabeth argued that it was despicable what Lisa was doing to Robin. The only consolation for Elizabeth was that karma was a "bitch" and that it would eventually catch up with Lisa. After Elizabeth walked away, Lisa headed to the elevators. Epiphany tried to talk to Lisa about some paperwork that needed to be completed for her reinstatement, but Lisa insisted that she didn't have time.

At the Scorpio residence, Robin tucked Emma in for the night. Robin decided to tell Emma a story about a princess whose beloved prince had died. In the story, the princess had been so devastated by the loss that her heart had frozen. However, she had met a handsome prince who had eventually thawed her heart. Robin told Emma that the princess began to love again, so she married the new prince and had a beautiful little girl. Unfortunately for the princess and her family, a wicked witch had put a spell on the prince. Robin confessed that she didn't know how the story ended, but the prince had given the princess a wonderful gift: Emma.

Meanwhile, in the living room a candle had tipped over onto some discarded wrapping paper. The living room quickly filled with smoke before the wrapping paper burst into flames. Moments later, the smoke alarms sounded. Robin stepped out of Emma's room. As she approached the stairs, Robin tripped and then fell.

Lisa walked up to Scorpio house and immediately heard the smoke alarms, so she entered the house and then called out for Robin and Mac. Lisa found Robin crumpled at the bottom of the steps, but before she could help Robin, Emma cried out. A short time later, Lisa rushed out of the house with Emma in her arms. Lisa handed the little girl to a neighbor who had called 911. Lisa realized that help wouldn't arrive in time to save Robin, so she ran back into the house to help Robin. Robin coughed as she slowly woke up; she was stunned to find Lisa looming over her.
