There is a spot we all
hold dear
beside a mountain lake
Where symphonies of birds we hear
and friendships true we make.
Nakanawa, Nakanawa
as we sing to thee
all our hearts are filled with love
and lasting loyalty.
As silver clouds touch evening skies
we wish upon a star
and voices from the woodlands rise
singing from afar.
Nakanawa, Nakanawa
as we sing to thee
all our hearts are filled with love
and lasting loyalty.
Amazons here, Valkyries there,
Minnies, Koochies everywhere,
Has everybody seen Nakanawa?
Full of fun, for everyone
While we're playin' in the sun
Has everybody seen Nakanawa?
Swimming meets and all those treats
and BOY how we eat.
The only thing that we regret:
WE AIN'T GOT NO BOYS YET!
But
Nakanawa is the best
is much better than the rest
Has everybody seen Nakanawa?
(you bet your life!)
We all love Nakanawa! YEAH!
If they could see
me now
that hometown gang of mine
I wear my blues n' whites
and feelin' mighty fine
If they could UN-DER-STAND
what rock meeting are,
if they could AP-PRE-CI-ATE
a wish on a star
If they could truly know
what love and friendship means,
and how it feels to love the other team,
To be an Amazon or Valkyrie's really super
If my friends could see me now,
they're really love it, if my
FRIENDS
COULD
SEE
ME
NOOOOOW!
N-A-K-A-N-A-W-A, RAH!
Ooooh fair Nakanawa,
we sing to thee (RAH RAH RAH!)
Pride of the Amazons
and the Valkries too
we love you,
Long may we cherish thee,
woods and lakes adoooore
Sing praise and honor
Foreeeeevveeerrrmoooore. HEY!
Nakanawa,
Dear Red and Blue
Nakanawa,
dear red and blue
Forever we'll
be true to you
When you are here,
good times are near
Nakanawa, Nakanawa.
Our souls find love.
Our spirits grow.
Ideals we've gained
Good friends we know
Where loneliness ends
and love begins
Nakanawa, Nakanawa.
When camp is over
and we must part
Nakanawa
shine in our hearts.
We'll meet again.
God bless our friends
Nakanawa, Nakanawa.
Show
me the way to
reduce
for I am fat and I wanna grow thin
I had a little bite about an hour ago
and it went to my triple chin.
No matter what I eat,
be a chicken, duck or goose (goose goose)!
you will always hear me singin' this song:
Show me the way to re-
I don't wanna re-
but I gotta reduce
(gotta watch those calories)!
O'er Camp Nakanawa
soft sinks the sun.
Campers are resting.
Their work is done.
Birds' silver music
swells in their throats
and mingles with it
tap silver notes.
Day is done.
Gone the sun.
From the lake,
from the hills,
from the sky.
All is well.
Safely rest.
God is nigh.
Goodnight. Goodnight.
In the evening, shadows steel across the sky.
In each living, glowing ember
there are friendships to remember
as we sing
one last goodnight.
Goodnight.
Goodnight.
Walk along the lake
with someone new,
Wear a happy smile and they will, too.
Friends made here will last your whole life through so,
Save your memories.
When your heart takes pictures in a flash
of all the dreams you've shared each day that's passed
you know that in your heart they'll always last so,
Save your memories
When you're all alone,
and far away from home
Nakanawa will call to you.
You'll become a part
and you will lose your heart
to Amazons red, or Valkyries blue
So wish upon a star that lights the sky
Wish that we may put away our sighs
We'll be happy 'til our last goodbye so,
Save your memories
Camp Nakanawa memories.
Way down in Tennessee
where the trees are big and tall
there is a little camp that we call Nakanawa.
We do a lot of things and we have alot of fun
like freezin' in the lake and bakin' in the sun.
A-rootie-toot-toot,
toot-to-to-toot
A-rootie-toot-toot, toot-to-to-toot. WHEEEEE!!
We Girls are a Very Lucky People
We girls are a very
lucky people
to come to a camp like Nakanawa
To do many things, but most of all
to gain friends and learn to love,
to gain friends and learn to love.
And when we return to camp at last
we can see all our friends from the past
from each different city and each new town.
We thank the Lord for Nakanawa
We thank the Lord for our friends
