WEAVIES ONE; Contemporary Patterns for Weave-it and Weavette™ Looms

Weavies One offers a selection of sixteen projects each made using your Weave-it, Weavette™ or other small hand looms. I started working on the book with the intention of offering eight projects, but there are just too many neat things to make. Weavies One guides you through each project from start to finished. Jump in and match the projects, or pick up an idea and use it as a jumping off place for your own creations. Weavies One includes a color plate of each of the projects as well as description and diagrams. [Cover Illustration]

Coming soon, a new book - Building Your Own Rigid Heddle Loom.  Most of my weaving is done with old Weave-it and new Weavette Looms. But sometimes you just need something a little bit bigger and a good rigid heddle loom can fill that need. This "how-to- build-it" book is the answer to getting a very high quality loom for a low price. By building it yourself with simple, sturdy materials available through local hardware or lumber stores.

Plus there's more... Weavies One is going online with Weavies1, an email group created to offer more and bigger color pictures of Weavies One projects and discussion about patterns and related topics. It is available by invitation to anyone who purchases the Weavies One pattern book. If you have a question- somebody else probably does, too, so lets pool our talents, make some wonderful items and have a lot of fun.

A Very Short History of Weave-its

Weave-it looms were popular for decades only to fade away in the '70's. But the people who loved them have brought them back and now there are new groups of people using them and new patterns available for afghans, soft toys, bags, purses, soft boxes, hangings and dolls.

Weavies are the woven product of the Weave-it and/or Weavette™ loom. My first Weave-it Loom was purchased by my mother to make baby clothes for my sister in 1963. I found it in the attic and made some charming doll clothes with the Weave-it loom -- if you like dolls wrapped in little blankets. Over the years I kept making more and more Weave-it "weavies" and making up more and more things to do with them. This site is will offer brand new patterns for afghans, soft toys, bags, purses, soft boxes, hangings and dolls.
