Amish Postage Stamp Afghan

Amish Postage Stamp Afghan

These pictures show different steps/pieces of what I am calling the Amish Postage Stamp Afghan. Not because it is based on a "postage stamp" quilt design, but because it is based on a picture of an Amish Quilt that I saw on an actual postage stamp. You may have seen it too, it was from a series of Amish Quilt commemorative stamps that are each just wonderful. There are certainly differences between my afghan and the original, and if it turns out with half the impact of that lovely quilt, I will be very proud. I am posting some pictures of pieces as I go along. I am afraid that many of the pieces look so "unfinished" as to be discouraging, but hang in there, it gets better. I am always amazed at how the pieces finally come together to produce something warm and colorful and comforting.
