Friday, February 14, 2003 It's been awhile since I've done any updating. It isn't that I don't ever check the site, but there are only so many new things that I can add. That's why updates don't happen as frequently as they did when the site was new. Nonetheless, I've added one minor thing: a link (to my Pet Hobbyist gallery), which can currently be found near the bottom of the main page.

I maintain this site as a uro owner who loves her pet, not as a veterinarian or an expert breeder. Although my contact information is on this website, I do not frequently check my email. If you have a serious question, join the Uro Zone Club and post a message asking for help. There are also other online uromastyx communities which are unaffiliated with this site, but are very reputable: the Uromastyx Mailing List or the Uromastyx Forum. Good luck with your pets!

    If you are interested in taking on a rescue pet (reptile or other pet), check out petfinder.com. Do realize, though, that while a rescue may be less expensive than adopting through a breeder, chances are that you will have to rehabilitate the animal - especially with reptiles. While all the animals listed at this site are available through humane societies and rescue organizations, the animal you adopt may suffer from illnesses or disabilities, or have been abused or neglected in the past, which could lead to behavioral problems such as aggression. Remember, they ended up at these humane societies because someone else was not able or willing to take care of them! You will definitely need to find a qualified herp veterinarian (or other veterinarian, if you are adopting a different kind of animal) as soon as possible. If you can handle this responsibility, be charitable and check out what animals in need are at Petfinder!
