Feb. 27--Three articles from a long time ago that you might have missed...Read Also, Bills Paid finished third in the Baldwin. And the profile is finally done!!

Feb. 24--Bit from SA Stable Notes: "Tyler Baze, meanwhile, won seven races in the five days and had moved into sixth place with 26 wins. His winning mounts were averaging a healthy $17.18." How about it? Today's win came aboard Western Starlet in the sixth. Won by 3, $28.40/$10.00/$4.40. Tyler is going to ride Bills Paid for J. Eric Kruljac in tomorrow's GRADE III Baldwin Stakes. That's 6 1/2 down the hill.

Feb. 23--A double today: 1st, Dig For It ($19.00/$7.60/$4.20). 5th, Seream ($13.80)

Feb. 17--Mr. Baze and 28-1 Persianlux ($57.20/$22.00/$10.60) took the Grade 2 $200,000 San Luis Obispo Handicap today. They went wire to wire and won by 5 easy easy lengths, just a walk in the park. This man is on ten alarm fire...Read Articles

Feb. 16--Only one win today, but get a load of this! Coming down the hill in the 4th, Tyler and Warp made a successful late charging victory as the longest shot on the board to a head win over the favorite, Affirmed Judgement. This resulted in a $106.20/$29.60/$15.40 payoff. How do ya like him now??

Feb. 16--A double for Tyler yesterday. Took the 2nd with Cantbetouched ($5.40/$3.60/$2.60) as the favorite and the 8th with Liquid Asset ($9.60/$5.80/$3.00), strolling home 9 lengths in front of Swift Terms! Tyler has seven mounts for Saturday 2/17, including Persianlux in the GRADE II San Luis Obispo Handicap.

Feb. 15--Tyler has five mounts today. *Not Tyler related but I'm too excited to shut up: Russell Baze is going to ride the Lukas trainee High Cascade in the GRADE I Fountain of Youth Stakes at Gulfstream Park on Saturday 2/17!!! Too Exciting!!

Feb. 8--Tyler had a Three Bagger today!!! In the first, Zipledo ($8.20/$4.40/$4.00) held on by a nose over Rapid Access. In the second, Annie Lil ($5.20/$3.60/no show betting) strolled home 4 lengths in front, leading all the way. Then in the sixth, Tyler gave Continental Road ($11.60/$4.80/$4.20) an exceptional ride leading every step of the way and beating the field of 8 Cal-bred fillies and mares by 3 lengths!! As if it doesn't get any better, Tyler is riding Warren's Whistle in the GRADE I Las Virgenes Stakes on Saturday, February 10!!

Feb. 03--Mr. Baze wins the 2000 Eclipse Award for Champion Apprentice beating out Norberto Arroyo, Jr. by thirty-one votes! YEEEAH!!

Mar. 31--A double for Mr. Baze today. One of which was Pride of Ownership in the nightcap for $10.80. I fixed some bugs on the site. The archives work correctly now. There are also some new links for ya'll to check out, including official ones for Dollar Bill and Vladimir Cerin!

Mar. 22--What a way to end the day. In yesterday's SA nightcap, Mr. Baze and Golden Bonus wired the field for a $18.40 win payoff!

Mar. 17--Indy Lead finished fifth in the San Felipe so Mr. Baze came back with a vengeance in the 8th and won it with Heisman at 48-1 with a huge $98.80/$24.40/$12.60 payout. Not like I got that chunk of change, but who cares ^_^

Mar.16--Tyler is going to ride Indy Lead for Bob Baffert in tomorrow's GRADE II San Felipe Stakes, a major Kentucky Derby prep!!

Mar. 12--Well, Mr. Baze did not win any of the Grade I's on Saturday, but he did sweep the early double on Sunday. In the first, Prime Candidate ($19.40/$9.20/$4.20) went wire to wire and in the second, he won with Jenna's Joy ($3.60/$2.60/$2.20) to make a $43.40 double.

Mar. 09--Dr. Park is a no go for the El Camino so Tyler stays in SoCal for some bigger rides :) In the GRADE I Santa Margarita Invitational, he rides the Irish bred Brianda. In the GRADE I Santa Anita Oaks, he rides the well regarded Pristine for D. Wayne Lukas and the Lewises.

Mar. 07--Tyler is listed to ride Dr. Park in the GRADE III El Camino Real Derby this Saturday at GG.

Mar. 04--Well, Mr. Baze did not win the Big 'Cap with Moonlight Charger, who finished 7th in the field of 12, but he did notch a $13.00 win with Engelbert in the 4th and a $19.60 place with Dig for It in the 3rd. Today Tyler rides Hopewell Heart for Ian Jory in the GRADE I San Carlos Handicap!

Mar. 02--Tyler has mounts in two graded stakes tomorrow. He rides Daytime Lover in the GRADE II San Rafael Stakes and Moonlight Charger in the GRADE I Santa Anita Handicap!!

Apr. 28--Brand new (slightly...) look!! Tyler and Lighten Up Tiny won the Maiden Stakes for fillies today! They overcame an awkward start and then romped by seven in the field of 14!!

Apr. 27--Mr. Baze has seven mounts on tomorrow's California Gold Rush card at Hollypark:
2nd (Waingarth, Merial Stakes 1 1/16 dirt); 5th (Lighten Up Tiny, Maiden Stakes 6 1/2f dirt fillies/mares); 6th (Flying Rudolph, Khaled Stakes 1 1/16 turf); 7th (Miss Bank Robin, Lake View TB Farm Stakes 1 1/16 dirt fillies/mares); 8th (Gracious Prize, Quicken Tree Stakes 1 1/2 turf); 9th (Stocks Are Rising, Snow Chief Stakes 1 1/8 dirt); 10th (Laser Con, Maiden Stakes 6 1/2f dirt colts/geldings)

Apr. 26--A double for Tyler today. Asian Adventure wired them in the third for $13.00 and My Diamond in the eighth for $4.00.

Apr. 21-- On Friday, Dr. Park dead heated with Media Mogul in the Will Rogers 'Cap.

Apr. 18--Racing resumes Friday the 20th at Hollywood Park. Mr. Baze has five mounts, including Dr. Park in the GRADE III Will Rogers Handicap for 3 year olds at a mile on the turf.

Apr. 16--It's closing day and Tyler is still 10 behind Laffit Pincay, Jr. but he is ahead of 3rd place Victor E. by 4. Here is an article from Friday's SA Notes.

Apr. 14--Persianlux ran a great race, leading all the way and just failing to hold off Bienamado by only 1/2 length. Here are quotes from Santa Anita Stable Notes:
"He's a special dude," McCarron said of Bienamado. "A very generous, very talented animal. He wanted it bad, but I'll tell you what, Persianlux put up a heck of a fight. I thought I had him measured at any time . . .but boy that horse kicked on too. It was a great race."

Baze, the Eclipse Award-winning apprentice of 2000, said Persianlux was gallant in defeat. "The horse ran his eyeballs out and hopefully I can win some graded stakes on him."

TYLER BAZE, PERSIANLUX, SECOND: "He ran awesome. He ran his eyes out - at first he wanted to be a little rank, then he relaxed real nice and walked right over the dirt. I was two (lengths) in front, he was nice and relaxed, going easy and he made a helluva run against Bienamado. The horse ran his eyeballs out and hopefully I can win some graded stakes on him."


Apr. 13--Persianlux is entered in the GRADE I San Juan Capistrano Handicap. It goes as the 9th at Santa Anita tomorrow. Our Man will ride the five year old horse for Wally Dollase in this $400K turf event at 14 furlongs. GOOOOOOO TYLER ^_^

Apr. 10--Baze tightens jockey race
With only six days of racing remaining, the jockey's race has tightened. Laffit Pincay, Jr. leads with 66 winners, but Tyler Baze had three winners Sunday, moving into second with 58. Victor Espinoza is third with 56.
Baze could make it close by the weekend. Pincay is booked to ride Millennium Wind in the Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland on Saturday but will be at Santa Anita for the rest of the week. Baze will be at Santa Anita all week.

Apr. 09--Wow! Tyler won three yesterday to pull within eight of leading rider Laffit Pincay, Jr. The winners came in the 1st, 4th, and 9th races with Jenna's Joy ($6.20/$4.20/$3.00), Inter Zone ($26.00/$8.40/$5.00), and Captain Bell ($8.40/$4.00/$3.00), respectively.

Apr. 08--SA Stable Notes: Eighteen-year-old sensation Tyler Baze rode two winners Friday [April 6, they were Brass Support($13.40) in the 7th and Syn Again ($41.40) in the 9th] and is just one victory away from tying Victor Espinoza for second place in the standings.

Apr. 06--Tyler will ride two graded stakes on tomorrow's card. They are: Lester's Boy in the GRADE II San Bernandino Handicap, and Early Flyer in the GRADE I Santa Anita Derby.

Apr. 02--Probable to the $750,000 Santa Anita Derby, with jockeys: Point Given, Gary Stevens; Crafty C.T., Eddie Delahoussaye; Palmeiro, Kent Desormeaux; Scorpion, Victor Espinoza; Startac, Alex Solis;Early Flyer, Tyler Baze; and I Love Silver, Laffit Pincay Jr.. May 31--A big fat triple for Mr. Baze yesterday!! He is sooo cool, swept the early double with Boca Dream ($9.80) and Codger ($68.00). That double was worth $164.80. Then Tyler won the 5th aboard Bob Baffert's 1/2 favorite Lighten Up Tiny with a big run in the stretch after going 4 wide around the turn. That makes two in a row for Lighten Up Tiny ^_^

May 30--Tyler is going to compete in the NTRA All-Star Jockey Championship at Lone Star Park on June 22!! Yeah!! GOOOOO Tyler ^_^

May 28--A double for Mr. Baze yesterday!! Race 1-Churchland (GB) for $7.20 and race 6 with favored Laser Con.

May 27--Tyler won the Willard L. Proctor Memorial Stakes with Expected Program ($7.60) by a neck over Fonz's and Laffit Pincay, Jr. From DRF:
Expected Program remained unbeaten after two starts with a hard-fought win over Fonz's in the $78,750 Willard Proctor Memorial Stakes for 2-year-olds.
Ridden by Tyler Baze for trainer James Chapman, Expected Program ($7.60) ran five furlongs in :56.81 seconds, finishing a neck in front of Fonz's, the 8-5 favorite. Square Cut Diamond was third in the field of seven.
Expected Program was wide on the turn, but cornered well. In his debut in a maiden race on April 29, Expected Program blew the turn, but still rallied to win by 3 1-4 lengths.

Tyler rides in 6 out of 9 races today.

May 25--Tyler had only one win yesterday. It was with You're On Your Own, a John Sadler trainee in the 4th for $7.40. Also, Tyler ranks 29th in the Nation in wins with 524 mounts and 86 wins.

May 14--Yesterday Tyler won the nightcap aboard Buzzword by five lengths, good for $12.00. There is racing at Hollypark today and Tyler rides in 7 out of the 8 races.

May 09--Tyler won the feature today on I've Decided ($29.20). They nosed out Negociateur and Eddie D. in the $55,000 allowance for 4 year olds and up.

May 08--Tyler is currently second in the Hollypark Jock standings with 13 wins. Laffit Pincay, Jr. is first with 19.

May 07--On Saturday the 5th Tyler won the third aboard Pie and Burger ($5.60) and finished third aboard Moonlight Charger in the Grade II Mervyn Leroy 'Cap. On Saturday, Sturge and Tyler wired them in the fourth for $17.60.

May 03--Two wins on the day for Tyler! Phyllida ($9.00) in the third and Bella Volare ($11.00) in the eighth.

Jun 30--Tomorrow, 7/1, Tyler is riding in two Grade II stakes at Hollywood. The 9th is the Honeymoon BC Invitational Hcp for 3yo fillies where Mr. Baze will ride Allright Now for Wesley Ward and the 10th is the Triple Bend BC Invitational Hcp where he will ride National Saint for Bob Baffert going against Caller One! GOOOOO Tyler ^_^

Jun 19--Tyler rides in seven out of eight races at Hollypark tomorrow, including Naughty Nacho in the allowance feature that goes as the seventh.

Jun 17--A double!! After I've Decided and our Mr. Baze got nosed out by Quake and Alex Solis in the opener, Tyler swept the next two with Hit the Big Time ($17.40) by two and a half and favorite Expected Program in the Haggin Stakes for two year olds.

Jun 15--Wednesday thru Friday Update:
Wed-A double, the fourth with 12-1 Arizona Superstar for $26.00 and the seventh with favorite Figlio Mio.
Thu-The eighth with Dustyourselfoff ($9.60) by 4 1/2 lengths.
Fri-The second with 8-1 Estrella Prisa by a head for $18.20).


Jun 02--Woohoo! A double for Mr. Baze today!! Favored Belaruse ($4.40) in the second and 17-1 Wolfwithintegrity ($35.80) in the seventh!! Back in the winner's circle!!

Jul 30--Weekend Recap: On Saturday Tyler won the 2nd w/ The Dr. Is A Lady by 5 lengths for $11.00 and on Sunday he scored w/ two favorites, in the 3rd w/ Figlio Mio ($5.80) and the 7th w/ Vida Dancer($9.80) by 8 lengths. Today, Tyler rides in 7 of the 8 races at DMR including Demon in the Rough in the $57K Allowance feature that goes as the 7th.

Jul 24--Mr. Baze has five mounts tomorrow, including Rainman's Request for Doug O'Neill in the $125K Graduation Stakes for 2yo Cal Breds that goes as the seventh.

Jul 22--A double for Tyler yesterday! The third with Salty Helen, worth $35.80 for the win and the fifth with Australian bred Bonotto ($26.80)! After the first five days of Del Mar, Mr. Baze is tied for second place with four other people in the jock standings...

Jul 20--Today Tyler will ride Dustyourselfoff in the $125K CTBA Stakes for 2yo fillies, that goes at the seventh.

Jul 19--Only one win for Tyler yesterday and that was in the second division of the Oceanside Stakes with 2-1 favorite Dr. Park ($6.40) by two.

Jul 17--Mr. Baze finished up the meet with 53 wins. Not too shabby. It's off to Del Mar until September 5, and only Tuesdays are dark! Tyler has seven mounts on opening day tomorrow, including Sigfreto in the first division of the(oops! mistake!) Oceanside Stakes (5th) and Dr. Park in the second division that goes as the 8th.

Jul 16--It's closing day at Hollywood Park and Tyler has five mounts!

Jul 13--Mr. Baze won two in a row yesterday. 4th with Divine Assurance ($9.40) and 5th with I've Decided ($8.20).

Jul 12--Mr. Baze won the nightcaps on Saturday and Sunday. Yesterday he had a double, winning the 4th and 8th (the nitecap). If I were to create a superhero, I would name him Nitecap Man...

Jul 6--Tyler will ride Lester's Boy in the Grade II Bel Air Handicap tomorrow. This is a $100K 1/16 miles on the dirt. Freedom Crest and Out of Mind will also compete in this race.

Jul 5--Mr. Baze is currently third in the Hollywood Park jockey standings. He is only 6 behind leader Alex Solis with nine days left in the meeting.

Jul 4--Happy Fourth!! Bet Tyler and and don't set the house on fire!

Aug 19--Pac Classic day and Mr. Baze rides two big races on the undercard. 3rd is the Rancho Bernardo Grade 3 where Tyler rides Brite Girl for Brian Koriner going up against Go Go. 8th is the Finlandia Cup Hcp where Tyler rides Walts Wharf.

Aug 18--Won the sixth with Just Ruhler for $23.20 ^_^

Aug 17--Tomorrow's 8th is the GRADE I Del Mar Oaks in which Tyler will ride Honeymoon Hcp winner Innit(IRE). It is $300K and 1 1/8 miles on the Jimmy Durante Turf Course. GOOOOO TYLER!!!

Aug 16--Tomorrow Tyler will ride I've Decided in the 7th race, which is the $75K Harry F. Brubaker Handicap for 3yo/up. It's 1 1/16 miles on the grass and they are 7-2 on the line.

Aug 15--Tomorrow Tyler rides 6 out of the 8 races. The 7th is the $64K Let It Ride.com Stakes where Tyler rides Jack Grandi (BRZ). It's 1 3/8 miles on the grass.

Aug 14--Big win for Tyler yesterday. He won the $100K Real Good Deal Stakes (DMR7) with 19-1 Waingarth. They came up late to win by 1/2 length creating a $40.80/$15.40/$4.40 payoff. Read the article!! Tyler has four rides on Wednesday.

Aug 10--Today Tyler has 6 rides, including Gleefully in the $70K Allowance feature that goes as the 4th and Our Main Man in the $64K Relaunch Stakes that goes as the 7th. Tomorrow, Tyler has 5 rides.

Aug 5--Weekend Recap: On Saturday Respectful finished second in the Sorrento Stakes. Not too shabby for a maiden. On Sunday Mr. Baze won the nitecap (again) with 8-1 Dreamin N Schemin ($18.80/$10.00/$5.40) by a half length over Kitty's Choice.

Aug 3--Did you get the $33.40 winner in yesterday's third? That was Go On Baby and Mr. Baze. Tomorrow, Tyler rides nine, including Respectful in the Grade II Sorrento Stakes for 2yo fillies.

Oct 31--This Saturday 11/3 is the Cal Cup at Santa Anita. Mr. Baze is named on Figlio Mio in the $250K Classic.

Oct 25--Breeders' Cup this Saturday!! Are you ready? Heck, I'm not :(

Oct 22--Nice win yesterday in the fourth!! It was 6 1/2 down the hill and Tyler & Revenescent had a nice pace pressing trip, taking command when they hit the dirt and won by a head for a tasty $41.40/$20.80/$10.00

Oct 20--The Grand High Ho scratched out of the Hidden Light so Mr. Baze rode Wild and Icy in that race. They finished fourth. But don't worry, Tyler wasn't shut out on his birthday!! Him and Frosty Breeze wired 'em in the third, making us all $7 richer...

Oct 18--Tomorrow is Mr. Baze's B-Day!! Remember to wish him Happy~~~ 6 birthday mounts for him including in the Hidden Light Stakes where he rides the Grand High Ho, who won last time out, ya heard it here first...

Oct 12--Yesterday Tyler only had one win, the fourth. But it was worth a good $20 if you got were loyally putting money on...;) Today Tyler will ride Rainman's Request in the Pinjara Stakes for two year olds.

Oct 10--Preview for this weekend: Dr. Park is going in Saturday's Grade II $150K Oak Tree Derby, but is listed as no rider. On Sunday, Tyler is listed to ride Grindstone Lassie in the $100K Ramser Hcp.

Oct 08--Weekend Recap of Mr. Baze: A double on Saturday with White Satin in the 1st and Waingarth in the 3rd for $11.80. On Sunday I've Decided ran third in the Oak Tree BCMS, a Grade II, after setting the pace.

Oct 05--Mr. Baze has four mounts today. Tomorrow he has seven. He will be riding Waingarth in the 3rd, which is a $49K Allow/Opt.Cl.

Oct 02--Yo! I'm Baaaackon a public computer!! Did you guys miss me? Anyways, as you already know, Oak Tree is on and our Tyler is tied for fourth place in the standings with a bunch of other people...uh...I need to get up to speed...gimme a few days, thanx ;)

Nov 30--5/6 in the money yesterday! :):):) Two of which were wins with double digit payoffs: Ms. Twining ($44.40/$19.40/$10.20) in the third and Via Lobos ($19.00/$8.20/$4.60) in the nitecap. 5 mounts tomorrow and Lord Jim in the $250K stakes (HOL 6).

Nov 29--Ok, I just finished my O-Chem midterm, it's time for horse racing. Today Tyler rides 6. The first race is the $50K Starter Allow. feature and he rides Kimora. Tomorrow he has 4 mounts, but none in the feature :(

Nov 26--Did ya'll eat a lot of turkey and get sleepy? Mr. Baze wasn't sleepy, he won 5 races over four day weekend. On Thanksgiving Day, 17-1 Waingarth got edged out by a head in the $100K On Trust 'Cap by Stormy Jack and Eddie D. Can't blame 'em...This Wednesday Tyler has four mounts, including California Sage in the Allow. feat.

Nov 19--Two wins yesterday. The second was w/ 10-1 shot Armed and Crafty for a nice $22.20/$11.20/$5.20 payoff. Then in the nitecap, Tyler and Secretariat's granddaughter, Rachel Lynn, dead heated for first w/ longshot Kitty Go Lucky.

Nov 17--Mr. Baze has six mounts today. He rides Labanta Babe in the feature, the GRADE III Hollywood Prevue Stakes for 2yos. It goes as the eighth.

Nov 14--Tyler has five rides tomorrow at Hollywood Park, including a couple of 2yo fillies. Our goal for this page is to launch a picture gallery by the first anniversary in February. So if you have pix you want to share, email away!!

Nov 7--Oak Tree closed on Monday and Tyler only won one, but it was a big one. In the 5th, Nickle Lou closed gamely and paid us $40.80/$20.40/$12.00 and combined w/ Lift Off for a $339.80 Exacta. Hollywood Park kicks off today.

Nov 5--Figlio Mio ran second in the Cal Cup Classic, 2 1/2 lengths behind Irisheyesareflying. Yesterday, Dancingonice and Tyler nearly pulled of a big upset in the Las Palmas 'Cap after setting the pace and leading all the way, until they got caught by Golden Apples at the wire. You still got $14.20 for the place.

Dec 14--Tomorrow Tyler will ride Dancingonice in the Grade II Dahlia Handicap. It's 1 1/16 mi grass. He has five other mounts besides that. I will be gone away from the computer for the rest of the year. So Happy Holidays, see you in the winner's circle 2002, baby!!

Dec 12--We got an award, woohoo!! Tyler rides six tomorrow, including three two year olds.

Dec 7--As of Wednesday, Tyler is fourth in the standings with 14 wins from 95 mounts.

Dec 3--You probably already know this but I'll say it anyways, Mr. Baze rode Caller One to a third place finish in the Grade 3 Vernon O. Underwood Stk. yesterday. Got necked out for the second but before that, he fought back when Men's Exclusive came up!
