Sony PlayStation

PlayStation offered a whole new world to Squaresoft. It allowed them to make longer, more involved games. Fully computer-generated backgrounds and video sequences made the games more realistic than ever before. Multiple disc sets meant that the games could be incredibly long and complex, and filled with loads of videos to really progress the storylines. Going with Sony instead of Nintendo was a huge step in the right direction for Squaresoft.
