Your CD has been out for a few years what have you been up to in the meantime?

I spent a lot of the year 2000 promoting the CD and 2001/2002 I had the my band "Riley Jordan and the Shamans" and we did gigs and shows all over. Then I felt it was time to start recording again but my studio gear was so limited it was depressing. The next year or so I spent putting together my new studio which meant doing things like learning to build computers. Then last year I got in touch with Ash Rhodes (percussionist/vocals) and together with Cres Crisp on Keyboards/vocals, we've started puting together a new band featuring my original music.

Did you get anytime to do any recording at all.

I've not only started to record my songs, but there are a number of outside projects being recorded here as well. A country album by a local band and a guitar instrumental series.

You've got a new EP out in April, how's that process been?

The EP has been the test case for the studio. There are now so many options for me and so many ways I can approach recording, that it took a fair bit of time to work through the different possibilities and to judge the results.

There's so much going on, it's great and overwhelming at the same time!

So you've recorded the EP before putting the band together, isn't that putting the cart before the horse??

The EP that I've recorded is a side project and the band will record it's own material after we've started playing live. The EP that I'm putting out is a part of the "Quietly Cathartic Series" which will be a cohesive collection of works that are simple and gentle to listen to with deep lyrical concepts. The band EP will be part of a series of work that is very organic soulful contemporary music.
