Keystone Offers New Terrain Park

With other Vail Resorts such as Breckenridge and Vail getting such great recognition for their terrain parks Keystone decided to step it up this year. They moved the park to the other side of the mountain in the Packsaddle Bowl, by doing that the park will nearly triple in size and give it three progressive sections. There will be two half pipes, a begginer pipe that is 11 feet and then an advanced pipe that will be 18.5 feet by 450 feet. In addition to the pipe there will be 51 rails and funboxes, music throughout the park and a a dedicated return lift(Packsaddle Lift). Now that almost the entire park is under lights it will be one of largest parks that can be ridden after dark. They have also dedicated four cats to the park one of which is a Zaugg Pipe cutter. And 56 snowguns for the park.

Fisher takes Gold in SuperPipe

After just taking gold in slopestyle 17 year old Shaun White was getting ready taking another gold in superpipe. Everybody was focused on White expecting him to take home his second gold in this years X-Games. But, during prelims he decked while doing a Haakon flip near the end of his second run and sprained his right knee. He took a few runs to test his knee out and after landing a clean McTwist he fell and he was done. This left gold medal open for any of the finalists. Some of the favorites then became Keir Dillon, Danny Kass, Steve Fisher, Ross Powers and Andy Finch. The one who stepped it up the most was Steve Fisher who landed a solid run to put him in first and after that nobody could catch him. Danny Kass came close in second place and in third Keir Dillon. And as for next year Shaun should be back and looking for some revenge.
