Goodnight Kiss

I stand in the middle of a snowfall
holding my mouth open
hoping to catch a snowflake.
I see the perfect one floating down--
Eyes closed, I wait
and then
it lands on my lips.
And for that moment
I am lost in ecstasy
unaware of the snow still falling
around me,
I only see that single snowflake
dancing on my lips.
Slowly,
that flake melts into my lips,
and to the world
it has disappeared;
but to me, it lingers on.
I felt it.
And I know
that someday I will be able
to catch that snowflake again.
