The Absent Minded Pencil

The absent minded pencil
writes without permission 
from me.
I did not pick it up,
I did not place the lead
against the undefiled paper.
It writes
forming words, but not sentences;
phrases, but not thoughts.
Pointless jabber covers the page,
a waste of lead and a waste of time.
The absent minded pencil 
is responsible
for this stupid poem.
