Cupid's Been Working Overtime

Cupid has been working
overtime this year.
I was going to be alone
this Valentine’s Day,
but he caught me unsuspecting.
I guess he couldn’t stand 
to see me so lonely
so he brought me you--
shot me with a piercing arrow
just in time,
and now I am bleeding with love
for you this Valentine’s Day.

This Valentine’s Day will be more
than just chocolates and flowers,
more than just material things.
On this special holiday, 
I will share my love with you
through my actions and words,
and promise you
that not only will I give you my love
