We bought our Great Pyrenees, Beast, from Tim and Rhonda last October. We had just purchased a few goats and were looking for a guardian dog to protect them since we have coyotes in our area. We've had lots of dogs over the years, but we had never had any experience with guardian dogs and weren't quite sure what to expect. Tim and Rhonda were extremely helpful in educating us on training and caring for Beast. Tim also gave us some great tips on worming and vaccinations so that we've been able to do most of that without having to haul Beast out to the vet on a regular basis. Tim has called us a couple of times over the past year to check in and see how Beast is doing. That is definitely the sign of a responsible and caring breeder. Beast is a great dog! He takes his job of guarding the goats very seriously - in fact, he seems to think that he is one of them! Our goats - and especially our buck - get along well with him, even though he aggravates them sometimes! Even our neighbor, who has cattle and horses in the pasture next to ours, has told us how much he appreciates "that big white dog" because his serious, powerful bark has helped keep the coyotes at a distance. One of the neighbor's cows had a calf just on the other side of our fence and Beast pulled guard duty from his side of the fence until the neighbor could get there to check on the calf. We hope to get a female at some point in the future to keep Beast company and we will definitely be calling Tim and Rhonda again when we are ready to do that.
