CUB SCOUT PACK #37

Cub Scout Pack #37

ABOUT US

Welcome to our web page! We hope that both Pack members and visitors will be able to use it as a resource. It has information about what kinds of things we've done, are doing, and plan to do. We built this site to introduce new boys to our program as well as give our current boys a place to find information on what is happening in other dens/patrols and upcoming events. So please enjoy our site and let us know what you think.

Pack #37 belongs to the Cradle of Liberty Council, Conestoga District. We having been serving the youth of Tinicum Township for 19 years. Our Pack is sponsored by St. John's Luthern Church located at Seneca and Jansen Streets in Essington, Pennsylvania. Most dens/patrols meet weekly (Tigers meet on a biweekly basis) in the Scout Cabin (yes, it's a real log cabin) on Jansen Street. Once every month (usually the fourth Wednesday of the month) the whole Pack gets together at Cabin at 6:30 p.m. The Pack currently consists of 14 scouts and 4 trained leaders. Moms, dads, and kids are welcome to take a look around and see what we're about. If you would like more information, please Contact Us.

WHAT IS CUB SCOUTING?

Cub Scouting began in America back in 1930 and continues today with these nine purposes/goals:

Positivity influence character development and encourage spiritual growth.
Help boys develop habits and attitudes of good citizenship.
Encourage good sportsmanship and pride in growing strong in mind and body.
Improve understanding within the family.
Strengthen boys' ability to get along with other boys and respect other people.
Foster a sense of personal achievement by helping boys develop new interests and skills.
Show how to be helpful and to do one's best.
Provide fun and exciting new things to do.
Prepare Cub Scouts to become Boy Scouts.

These goals are accomplished through a program geared to a variety of group activities such as crafts, skits, games, the annual food drive, neighborhood Christmas caroling, our exciting Pinewood Derby, field trips to the Philadelphia Zoo, Monster Truck Jam, Franklin Institute, Ringling Bros and Barnum Bailey Circus, camping, and other fun stuff!

Emphasis is placed on self-improvement and "doing you best" rather than winning or losing. Our mission is to provide the BEST scouting experience and as much fun as possible for our scouts.
