Ramazan is a special time of the year when shops and resturants remain open till dusk offering sumptuous ramazan treats and lucrative deals. Here is a reviews of what your city has to offer this ramazan..

No look would be complete without accessories. Especially not when it is the all-important Eid look. The need for the right accessories that would complement the attire is even more pressing.

The first vital accessory to complete a look of course is shoes. Without the right footwear even the most striking and elegant of outfits fail to go anywhere. So what are the hot joints in the twin cities that would be making you well-heeled to pass the Eid test? One of the biggest attractions in Jinnah Super has to be Traditions. The place not only has an interesting range of trendy, high-quality ladies shoes but their bags, leather coats/jackets, gloves etc are stuff to literally die for. There are many other shops - many of them familiar names in other cities as well - in the vicinity that should not be bypassed: English Shoes, Milli Shoes, Metro Shoes & Bags, Kumfurt Shoes & Leather Merchandise. Mother & Daughter Footwear & Bags at King's Arcade has a range that can give you that cutting edge. In F-6 Supermarket Arq's Collection, Move Shoes and Comfy Shoes are also worth a daikho. For men, the Nike shop at Chenab Centre, Blue Area should have something interesting for the occasion. And then there is another old favourite, the Hush Puppies outlet at Junaid Plaza, Blue Area.

The outlets in Jinnah Super like Urban Soul, BHS, Guess, GAP, Pierre Cardin not only have excellent designer shoes for men but also other accessories like socks, ties, belts, wallets, scarves, gloves etc for that hot winter look. You can also trot along to Selection and Kay Goc in F-6 Super Market.

In Pindi, the best shoe outlets for men are in Saddar, mostly on Bank Road. A lot of men head for Ghakkar Plaza which apart from imported and local shoes is also an accessories haven. The prices here are quite economical and bargaining is de rigueur. Check out Pakistan Leather and Shan Leather which have some very smart and street savvy leather wear. Then there is Borjan men's shoes, English Boot House, Comfy Shoes. Khussa lovers can check out Amir Adnan and Junaid Jamshed in Jinnah Super.

In Pindi, the ladies would find the footwear at Vamp Shoes, Walk Inn, Aruqa Furriers, China Boot House quite up to the mark. Allah Baksh Designers at Canning Road have excellent hand made shoes and leather stuff.

If interesting objects is what you have in mind then a hot spot to look for such stuff are the various Haroon outlets in Blue Area, Super Market and Jinnah Super. Another store famous for gifts and other bric-a-brac is Tashfeen's. Then are Silkmania, Hang Ten, Kashmir Shawls, Indus Arts and Handcrafts, Sungi Crafts, Chocolate (?) Gift Shop -- all located in Jinnah Super. The stuff at these stores is casual as well as formal, elegant and feminine, dramatic and manly. Be it an inspiring gift item or a fashion accessory at these stores you will spend many a happy hour rummaging through a wide variety items like scarf, gloves, hats, imitation jewellery (necklaces, pendants, wrist instruments), clasp evening purses, party wear bags, lighters, ash trays, candles and candle stands, cufflinks, ties, lamps, cushions, bed linen, fountain pens, picture frames, watches and a whole lot more. Perfume fanatics should be heading for Bukhari's in Jinnah Super. They also have an excellent range of designer cosmetics if want to glow and glimmer. Of course Shaheen at F-6 Super Market is a must-stop for the ultimate symbol of passion, perfumes and cosmetics. While in F-6 you could also pop into Threadline Gallery and She Gift Centre.

In Pindi there are numerous outlets if you have a fancy for accessories and exciting gifts. In Sadder, check out S A Latif & Sons and M A Khokar & Co, Lifestyle, City Lights (for lamps & chandeliers) would be vying for attention. Singapore Plaza in Sadder is also a haven for such shops. Last but certainly not the least is the famous China Market at College Road. This area is literally a treasure trove of interesting foreign stuff and you will see how time flies over here as you check out shop after shop of delightful imported goodies.

For interesting and beautifully designed Eid cards, the huge Saeed Book shop at Jinnah Super will have something to help you express your sentiments. And then there are Book Fair and Jumbo Book Fair both in the Blue Area. Student Book Co in Sadder Pindi not only has excellent collection of greeting cards but also houses a wide variety of items that would make lovely gifts for your loved ones. Bombeat next to it is also in the same mould and you can also check their vast selection of CDs and cassettes.

Now for the sweets without which Eid would not be complete. In Isloo, Nirala Sweets in Bilal Plaza Blue Area offers mouth-watering sweet delicacies that will turn you into a glutton. A famous name in Lahore, Nirala because of its high quality delectables has also made its mark in the capital city. Also in the Blue Area, Jamil Sweets is another old favourite that can be sampled, it is famous locally for its excellent kulfi. Rasheed Sweets opp Pizza Hut in Jinnah Super has its own place as does the well-known Kaka Sweets in F-6 Super Market.

And if you want to add some more zest to your table with cakes and other bakery products then Bakewell, a familiar and famous name in Isloo, will more then live up to your demands with its mouth-watering cakes and other baked delicacies. They have a number of outlets in the city and have a diehard clientele that swears by their excellent cakes and other fresh items. In Jinnah Super, there is Cake Palace and Afghan Bakers, a favourite with foreigners in particular. Try their biscuits, and don't forget to visit Gourmet.

And then there is Kitchen Cuisine which is also a very famous name in Isloo for cakes and other bakery products. One more familiar name that is synonymous with outstanding bakery stuff is United Bakery which has a huge outlet in F-6 Super Market and also has outlets in Pindi. While in Pindi, you can sweeten up your Eid festivities with the famous lip smacking goodies offered by the famous Break n Butter bakery.

They are very famous not only in Pindi but also Isloo. An aunt of mine who lives in Lahore is crazy about their products and whenever I go to her place, I make it a point to take something from here. Sajid Sweets which is located close by has excellent mithai but it is their samosas and kachori that have my mouth watering. Then there is the only Kitchen Cuisine outlet in Pindi at the Rendezvous on Police Station Road Saddar.

Two more names Rahat Bakers and Unique Bakers also enjoy much popularity among Pindiites. So as Ramazan draws to a close make the most of these special days to add oomph to your otherwise laid back life.
