  Ramazan is a special time of the year when shops and resturants remain open till dusk offering sumptuous ramazan treats and lucrative deals. Here is a reviews of what your city has to offer this ramazan..    
   





Besides post election political manipulation, iftar-cum-dinner seems to be the order of the day in the city of Islamabad

As is the case in the rest of the cities, with the advent of the holy month of fasting, the leading hotels and restaurants of the twin cities too are offering mouth-watering Ramazan deals. These tempting, economic offers, catering to a wide spectrum of taste and budget, provide people with the opportunity of enjoying the seasonal Ramazan delights to their heart's content.

Let's start with Isloo's newest five-star hotel, the Serena Hotel, which has already made its mark in the short span that it officially opened its portals to the public. Serena is offering a very tempting iftar-dinner at the Shadman Court (Rs. 500 per person - inclusive of tax). Here you will be serenaded by the soothing strains of sitar, santoor and tabla as you start off with traditional iftar items like pakora, fruit chat, bhelpuri, etc. Another attraction here is fresh jalebi and halwa puri. The dinner menu changes everyday but you can expect to find a delectable variety of barbecue delights as well as soups, salads and desserts. You can also win many exciting Ramazan prizes here.

Islamabad Marriott, a favourite with Isloo's swanky set, has come up with a very appealing buffet-iftar-and-dinner at The Marquee (Rs 550 plus tax per person). The menu here is changed everyday but you can expect to find traditional iftar items including doodh jalebi, chats, dahi bhallay and then there are such tempting traditional and continental dinner sensations as soups, paee, nihari, rice dishes and many, many more. And then there is also the possibility of winning exciting prizes which include trips to exotic destinations.

The Holiday Inn has come up with two very tempting treats: Barbeque dinner with complimentary iftar (Rs 350 plus tax) and iftar (Rs 120 inclusive of tax). The iftar includes such staple items as pakora, samosa, chat etc. The dinner includes lamb chop, mutton chop, biryani, chicken dishes and many, many more tempting delicacies.

The very popular restaurant Pappasallis, which has been providing irresistible dining experience to Islooiites for more than a decade now, is treating its loyal patrons to an iftar Buffet (Rs 230). The iftar includes the delicious high tea that the place is known for which includes such attractions as pakora, dahi bhallay, mini pizza, a variety of desserts, shashlik, coffee and tea....and much more.

The newly opened Pizza Hut at the Jinnah Super too has come up with a Ramazan deal - Iftar Special (Rs 295). There are quite a few aromatic treats like spicy pizzas, salads, drinks on the offer here.

Chinese food buffs can head for the Muitat Chinese restaurant at F-10 Markaz. Run by the very friendly and gracious Peerzada duo (Col (r) Peerzada and his wife Talath Peerzada), this cozy little place is worth checking out if good Chinese food is what you have in mind. They are offering a very tantalizing Ramazan Buffet Package - complimentary iftari and 9 dishes (Rs 135 per person) which include soup, fish crackers, salad, rice, chowmein, Manchurian, chopsuey and chicken qorma. The only condition is that one has to book a table in advance for this Chinese iftar.

Now let's hop over to Pindi. The old favourite, Pearl-Continental has a number of alluring Ramazan dazzlers. First there is the Buffet sehri at the Marcoplo (Rs 250 plus tax). The lavish spread out at this sehri includes many mouthwatering delights - chicken ginger, chicken curry, qeema, mutton, croissant, nan and paratha, tea and coffee, lassi. The Iftar at Frontpage Cafe (Rs 150 plus tax) is another delectable lure that the PC Islamabad has come up with. Here you will be able to feast on dates, pakora, samosa, fruit chat, chana chat, kebab, chicken patties, chicken wings, mithai, juice, tea and coffee - it is the regular high tea menu with the addition of hot and spicy haleem and nan. Last, but certainly not the least, is the iftar-cum-dinner at the two restaurants, Bukhara and Marcopolo (Rs 375 plus tax). The menu at these hot spots is changed daily but includes Pakistani and Continental delicacies like grilled chicken, grilled fish, mutton, pullao, biryani, dal, sabzi and much, much more.

Pindi's newest hot spot for one-of-a-kind dining experience, Rendezvous is tempting too offering a sumptuous iftar-cum-dinner (Rs 249). You start off your iftar with pizzas, sandwiches, spring rolls and followed by their delicious chaat. And then you can top it up with such dinner delectables as lasagnia, chapli kebab, mutton du piaza, Chinese rice, sweet and sour chicken, soups, salads, assortment of sweets and much, much more.
