Death of Mrs. Frank Hill

Alice E. Hill was born in London, Monroe County, Michigan., July 11, 1868, the daughter of Nathan C. and Hannah M.Putnam. In March 1873 she moved with her parents to this village, where she resided until her marriage to Frank W. Hill on the 11th day of March, 1891. Since then she has resided with her husband at Alma, Union City, and Homer, Michigan, and Los Angeles, California, at the age of 32 years, 10 months, and 24 days. Her husband, mother, brother and baby boy, aged 12 days, survive her. Alice had been for many years an earnest Christian worker. While living in Milan she was a worker in the Baptist Church, but her Christian life was braoder than any one church, and her life was devoted to all people with whom she met. Her's was a beautiful character and more than a few had been inspired to better living by her faithfulness. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at one o'clock at the home of A. E. Putnam on West Main Street. Rev. Howard A. Feild, pastor of the M. E. Church, preached the sermon, and Rev. Alex. Danskin, of the Presbyterian Church, assisted in the service. The music was funished b a quartette from the Baptist choir. The house and yard was crowded with friends, who had come to show by that act, the love and esteem in which they held her. The precious form was laid away in the pretty Marble Park Cemetery, but her soul we believe has gone to dwell with God.
