"Buckingham at Dusk"

another Yoder Original

This was the third and final painting of a series of Chicago paintings I did for some friends of mine.  The first was "A Lake Shore Kinda View", which highlighted the Hancock Building; the second was "Save Ferris", which focused on the Cubs beautiful and historical home - Wrigley Field; and this one, which features Buckingham Fountain.

Some may recognize this fountain from the beginning of the TV show, "Married With  Children".

This picture is a bit brighter, and illustrates all the colors involved, a bit better.  Of all my paintings, this was my favorite, in terms of use of color.  I was looking forward to capturing the dusk look, with the skyline in the background.  It was challenging, because I had to essentially combine 2 pictures into 1 painting.  I knew it could be done, but I wasn't certain if I could tie the two together.  It seemed to work out okay.

Overall, I'm very happy with it, and hopefully Andy and Katie are too!
