Congratulations, Jessie!!!

Last updated on April 28, 2003

Jessie Singleton has been elected Mayor of the Ohio River Valley Region for 2003-2004!

On a personal note, I would like to say (well, write) that Jessie is one of the hardest-working people I have ever met in my life. She has been striving for this office since day one, and even though she may give me a lot of credit (too much, ha ha), she would not have won the election if she hadn't wanted to be Mayor with all her heart and soul. Every time I talked to her in the weeks leading up to Spring State, she was working on or thinking about something related to her campaign. Rarely have I seen such perseverance personified. If she works just half as hard on being Mayor as she did getting elected, the Ohio River Valley Region will have a successful year. However, Jessie does nothing halfway. When she applies that dedication and strength to improving the ORV and providing leadership for the region, I don't think anything can stop her. I feel truly privileged to have been a part of this campaign and hope to work further with Jessie (and Nick Faulkner - congrats to the new Vice Mayor!) this year to create tomorrow today. She's always said that she won't let you down... and she won't. Good luck, Jessie! I knew you could do it. :)

My fellow JSA members,

Hello! My name is Jessie Singleton, and I am working hard to become your next Mayor of the Ohio River Valley Region. My passion and dedication for serving my peers has led me into this campaign. After two years of experience in JSA, I feel that I am qualified to become your Mayor. I have spent this year as Director of Logistics for the region and Treasurer for my chapter at Dobyns-Bennett High School. These two roles have shown me how JSA works. I understand the responsibilities of the elected officials and I know the challenges each chapter faces. Working so closely with the other members of the region has given me several ideas to improve the standards of JSA on both a regional and chapter level. My platform is based on these principles.

Spring State is coming soon! I hope that you will take full advantage of this web site that Michael Ondrick has so graciously helped me build. There are links to pictures, a guestbook, a contact me page, and most importantly my platform. I think you will find the information helpful and meaningful. In closing, please know that I am genuinely dedicated to serving The Junior State. If I am elected, nothing will stop me! I wont let you down, ORV! Thanks for your time, and I look forward to talking with you in Columbus!

~ Jessie
